What are you getting your mom for mother's day? I'm at a loss and need to do it soon bc it needs to be mailed to her.

Last August I was in Home Goods and they had just gotten a shipment of Hummels in. My mom collected them as a kid. I bought her 2. One I gave her for Christmas and the other I will give her for Mother's Day. My son (5) is also making a sun catcher for her. I need to mail these to her on Monday, too.

Last year I sent my mother chocolate covered strawberries fron Edible Arrangements. They were a HUGE success.

The Vera Bradley Alice bag in the Night and Day pattern. :)

My Mom likes a tea that she has only found at Stone Mountain Park in GA. I always drive over and pick a package up for her for Mother's Day.

She's told us over and over she doesn't want more stuff and now that she and Dad are full time RV'ers, that will make the perfect gift.

I just have to know if they will be staying somewhere awhile so I can send it to her. :rotfl:

Unfortunately I loss my mom some time ago but I have a celebrations that are mini traditions.
My sister, SIL, MIL, a few aunties and cousin get together and have "A chat and Chew". we pick a restaurant that is usually not family friendly, which means we don't get to go, we have lunch and then go get pedicures and manicures.

My husband and sons will treat me to the hairdressers for a complete work over. I'll get a cut, color, perm the whole shebang.

We're not into giving to much stuff, mainly because most of us have a lot of stuff now.

I am giving MIL a Vera Bradley Apron in a matching recipe box, and a gift basket from a local gourmet shop.
For one grandmother a digital frame that I plan on putting pictures of her (that I have) from years ago through the present.
I was going to do an album through shutterfly or snapfish but I think she'll like to have the frame on display better.
For another grandmother I am just sending flowers.

For my MIL, DH bought a gift certificate from her electric company to put towards her electric bill at the cottage (though she can well afford the bill, we like to help out with that kind of stuff, since we use it a lot in the summer).

Not what I would have chosen as a gift, but MIL is a very practical gift-giver (while I am a fun gift giver) so DH gets to buy all of her gifts.

strivectin cream for neck- she really wants it but it's too much money for her to spend on herself.

I had no idea what to get my Mom and MIL this year. Usually its flowers. I ended up going to JC Penney.com and ordered both of them a nightgown, slippers and a blanket! Kind of a bed-time gift ;) No idea if they will like it or think its strange. They are both elderly and need nothing, so I thought replacing their old stuff was a plan.

Photo coaster sets at Michael's for about $7.99. You slide pictures of grandkids underneath the glass coaster. For both DM and MIL . Simple and done.

I got my mom a cookbook she wanted. My MIL gets a Giant Eagle gift card. She doesn't need anything, and usually what she gets from everyone else collects dust. So, we started with the grocery cards....knowing they are appreciated and will not go to waste!

My mom gets a spa gc. For MIL, we got her a Vera Bradley apron and recipe box and I'm pushing to get her a birthstone necklace. It's the first time I've ever seen a birthstone/customizable/mommy necklace that can accommodate 8 children. It would put us over our limit a little, but I think it's worth it. DH does not, lol. If DH can't be convinced, then we'll get her a bouquet of flowers to go w/ the VB gift.

I made my MIL a calendar filled with photos from our Christmas trip to WDW. She is going to LOVE It! I made my mom and grandma a calendar with old family photos from my grandparents younger days. I did these through Creative Memories and the one I ordered on Monday afternoon is already printed, shipped and due to be delivered today, so I'd say there's still time to accomplish it.

I love CM because it's fast and unlike other calendars, the pages detach so when the year is over you can detach the calendar portion and you have 12x12 digital scrapbook pages that you can slip into an album. I love the snapfish calendar that I got with pictures of my niece, but in January I'll either have to cut the pictures out myself, find somewhere to store the whole album, or throw it away  (this is the least likely option).

I know, isn't that so cool? So for my grandma's heritage photos on her calendar, I have an album at the end of the year! By the way, I started these calendars with May, so I can even make new ones next year. And the way I customized the backgrounds was cool, too. I took my own photos, made them opaque and VOILA! Instant custom background. For example, I have a fantastic shot of my son and nephew making funny faces while they're riding BTMRR. Did a closeup of the mountain for my background. Let me try to show you.

My mom is getting a kuerig coffee maker. It's more than we usually spend but my sister is "going in" on the gift as well. She loves coffee and will love this gift.

I've ordered from Vera Bradley! Can't go wrong there. :thumbsup2
