My MIL gets flowers at work the Friday before Mothers' Day every year.

I mailed her a present one year and it got there the Monday after Mothers' Day. She told all the ladies at work "My son and daughter-in-law will send me flowers, they do every year". And I didn't, although luckily everyone else in the family did that year. I felt bad, so like it or not, that's what she gets EVERY year LOL!

I got my mom tickets to see Beauty and the Beast in June. I usually get her something we can do together, vs. things, she loves having something to look forward to. We'll travel to the city to see the show & stay in a hotel 1 night, dd10 will go also. I've been taking pictures of our mini adventures, so hopefully some mother's day I can make a small scrapbook to give her. We went to Wicked in Denver in Oct. and for Christmas I gave her tickets to Little House on the Prarie.

We'll be on vacation on Mother's Day. I am going to get some face cream she won't buy herself and I'll pay for a few meals that week.

Nightgown with coordinating robe and the first book her winter book club will be doing.

The past few years she's gotten a GC to her local nursery and my sister and I have gone to help her plant for a day.

My mom is getting a coffee mug I designed on snapfish with a few pictures of our family from our recent trip. She can't travel with us to disney anymore so I included some of her favorite sites. It was b1g1 so I get to keep one too. I also had a travel mug made for DH for father's day.

This year my mom's birthday falls on Mother's Day. I got her a gift card to Kohls and I am sending money. She is saving for a trip to Hawaii and will use it towards that.

I'm not sure what dh and the kids have planned for me, I can't get my 8 year old to spill the beans. I hate surprises.

An Orchid plant I always buy her an orchid, dinner at her favorite restaurant a card with a gift cert to her favorite salon. I know the orchid is the most important she has orchids I've given to her from ages ago.

Well, I decided for both moms. I have my 2 year old son's most recent school picture, so I bought a frame which has two five by seven spaces in a mat. for the One 5 by 7, it will be his school picture. The other will have a piece of his art work he has done. He's going to fingerpaint the mat. And then, since I can't cook for them since we live so far away, I'm going to give a gift card to a restaurant they like. I hope they like it!

Mom gets flowers and a phone call since we live in different states. MIL gets a card and a phone call. I can't send her flowers because she lives in a remote part of the country where there in no delivery. It never occured to me to buy a "big gift" on Mother's day. Even from my own kids I only ask for flowers and their company.

You don't have to buy a big gift for mothers day. Everyone is different.

That is so true. When dh's mom was alive we would all go over and do a day of yardwork and gardening for her, that was her gift. She would even feed us and not let us help with the food

I found a pretty wire bird feeder at Bass Pro Shop of all places and so my mom is getting that a bunch of suets to go inside for the birdies to eat. They live in the country on the lake and she's a bird watcher, so it's perfect.

MIL is tough (and never pleased with anything, always gripes) so she's getting some cotten linen potpourri (it's williamsburg blue & cream to match her living room) and a matching oil scent thingy.

Mom's getting a Troll Bead for her bracelet...so happy she started the bracelets...make it a lot easier to buy for!
