Mother's Day at WDW!

We are planning a last minute trip to Disney...before more heavy chemo starts for my daughter, we thought we would have some fun. Thekids have no idea and we aren't saying anything until we are leaving just in case dd gets sick and we need to cancel ~ been there done that! ANYWAY my kiddies make a huge deal out of Mother's Day and I want them to be able to make it special, but don't know what some choices might be .... of course I don't mind it being special either!

The only thing we experienced on Mother's Day a year (or two?) ago was flowers given out at Spoodles for dinner for everybody who looked like a mother. At least that's what I recall. I think that was our day of arrival, so we didn't make it in the parks. I think the airlines did a tiny something for mothers as well...don't remember what. It really didn't seem like Mother's Day to me, but it was a travel day for us, so that probably explains it.

If you go to MK check at city hall I'm not sure if buttons are given out or not. We did go on Mothers Day on '05 and flowers were being given out at the restaurant we ate at.

Hi Tomskatt! We're going for a quick getaway also - a huge surprise for my kids! We've never been for Mother's Day before, but I know there is a brunch at Epcot, and there are supposed to be Mother's Day buttons.

Have a safe trip, and I hope you have a magical time. Sending lots of pixie dust for your daughter's upcoming treatments - I hope everything goes well.

well if you are of the age to remember him Davy Jones from the Monkees will be at Epcot concert series on Moms day
last year we got a flower at Epcot
Don't remember buttons tho... must have missed those ?
I got a free Dessert last year for being a mom but don't know if everyone got one or not...

We'll be at the Beach Club for the first time - how about you?

We're really excited about the Flower and Garden fest, I haven't been in five years, so I'm looking forward to that.

I'll see if I can find out anything else for Mom's Day.

We will also be there for Mother's Day. In Japan at Epcot you can shuck your own oyster for a pearl. I read on the boards it's $15. If you get a really big one they ring a bell or blow a horn or something. You can get it set while you are there if you like. There is also a Mother's Day brunch at Epcot. I think I found out about that on www.allears.net. Can't remember actually. Have fun.

WHAT?!?!?!?! OMG! Even my kids know that is the first group I ever loved! Okay, so I was 4, but I always have loved the Monkees. Why am I crying at the keyboard?! Anyone know how I can go? Tix needed? OMG!!!!!

you just need tix to Epcot for That day -
I think concert times are at 5:45, 7 and at 8 p.m. Line up early !!! i could be off on concert times - so check your booklet of events..
and he will be at the Americas Theater which is in World Showcase on the lake across from the American adventure. you can't miss it -
My hubby took me last year for Moms day and i was all stupid and and he waved at me - ok along with a few hundred other people but still
Poor DH has to take me again this year and suffer thru it!
