Mother of monorail driver killed in crash sues Disney World

I would do the same as the mother. It doesn't bring the son back, but it does force Disney to accept culpability in the CM's death, and possibly reconsider other "time- and money-saving" policies that it may currently practice, that may not be in the best interest of employees and visitors.

So incredibly sad. :sad1: It sounds like she has a good case, I hope she prevails and I hope Disney making monorail procedures safer for everyone brings her at least a bit of comfort.

I completely agree. Disney IS culpable, and the suit will make sure that they suffer for it. You can't just keep making cuts and making cuts and pat yourself on the back for how cheaply you're getting things done. Eventually it catches up with you. This was a tragedy that did not have to happen.

My father has always said: "you get what you pay for" and the recent spate of problems at WDW (bus accidents, monorail problems and the rising number of child porn issues) are saying to me that some more thought needs to be put into how things are run over there.

I expected that this would happen!
If I were in that mother's shoes I would be doing the same thing.
It doesn't bring her son back, and I feel like it's not about the money. It's about someone taking responsiblity for her son's death. A death that should not have happened.
