I was wondering how many mothers of Disney Brides are on here. My daughter is WVTink. I know I lurk quite a bit looking for ideas and suggestions. I'd like to know how you all are surviving this process and how to cope with your daughter.

Hi Congratulations on your daughters upcoming wedding.

My Daughter was married on the 22nd of February. All I can say is it was INCREDIBLE!!!! every single aspect of it. You could not ask for better people than these wonderful disney wedding people!!!!!!! It was an experience we will never forget. So enjoy all the planning it really is alot of fun.

As for dealing with my daughter, we had such a good time planning and researching it really brought us closer throughout the process. (thankfully we had the same opinions and tastes in everything so we were in total sink.)
She told me towards the end, she just wanted to show up and that's basically what she did(she is pregnant and VERY hormonal) so I cut her alot of slack in the end.......

But have fun and enjoy this very special time in both your lives. If I had to do it again I don't think I would change a single thing.

My beautiful almost Disneyland Bride and I are going to DLR on the 10th for "our" planning session. Her DF and my DH are going to be able to make the tasting session, of course!

So we are very anxious to actually start something! We will post all of the info we gather along the way, and so far are having an absolutely fabulous time!

Luckily, as with mother of bride 010103, we have very similar tastes, but we have not gotten to the nitty gritty of when she will have to make those tough budget choices!

Thanks for responding. My daughter and I seem to share the same taste so that has gone well. Keeping within the budget is one of my worries and the other is her FMIL. Poor daughter has had to deal with FMIL stating that very few of that family would be able to come to the wedding if at Disney. DD has been upset. She wants both sides of the families to be present at the wedding. Her DF has told her he just wants to make her happy. She just sat one night and cried in my arms. I have felt so helpless. I'm just hoping minds will be changed and more of his family will be able to attend.

:goodvibes DD got married at the WP on 1/4/08....and I agree with the other momofbride.......IT WAS BEYOND OUR EXPECTATIONS, WORTH EVERY PENNY, PRICELESS....etc, etc, etc......

I worked with DD and the planner as a "go between" because DD's work schedule was so hectic at the time....and everything we wanted, needed or asked for was accommodated.....the budget was exactly where we needed, and the floral (Rose Dizon) department exceeded our dreams.......photography was great,,,well I could on and on....

As far as family......we had the same issues....DF's dad finally paid for about 6 of their family members to fly down so they could be a part of the party.....and we had several close family members who couldn't/wouldn't come down.... :confused3 but in the end.....it didn't matter.....it was all about DD and her soon-to-be...and everyone who was there had a wonderful time....

Enjoy every minute of this with her.....take lots of pictures and get ready for the ride of your life!:yay:

I have read so many posts where the first reaction was no way can people afford to do this, but as time goes on, people find a way.

Many turn it into a vacation they would not have taken otherwise, others simply can't miss out on the occasion. We have not had anybody tell us they could not attend my sweet angel's FTW next year...I bet you end up with more people than you expect.

Then it is back to the budget issues!

Thanks for the replys. I love the "good" days when she gets excited about any new ideas. Yesterday we were talking with my sister and niece and it was such a positive experience. I can't believe we are only 14 months away. Again, thanks for the encouragement.

Good luck to you MomofINDYBRIDE. We should compare notes often through this process.

My daughter must have seen the Mom of Bride post as she asked me to join.

I'm surviving so far, although her wedding isn't until December. Ask me again in the Fall! LOL

I just read some of the posts. Looks like I need to brush up on the "lingo" here.

Looking forward to meeting other Disney Bride Moms & Brides!

WElcome Susan. :yay:

I know I have to figure out the lingo too. I think I've lurked some to figure some of them out. Just ask. I did finally read what a BEO was. I just really wanted to know how many brides had their mothers involved or maybe I should stay back. It looks like moms and daughters are still involved in the planning. Yeah!
