Mother-in-law gave up!!!

For all of those who have read and responded to my thread "mother-in-law trying to tag along...help" I just thought I'd let you all know that today she gave in and has decided to let us be in WDW. I'm not sure exactly why, but DH hinted around that we didn't want her coming and she called and said she'd changed her mind. We did ask her if we could come down in September and visit her, the kids have a 4 day weekend for the Jewish holidays, maybe that apeased her, which is what it was supposed to do. Or maybe she just got the point. We'll never know because we're too scared to ever bring the subject up again for fear she'll change her mind. Now we can enjoy the next 25 days of planning and getting ready without the anxiety of thinking she's going to tag along at WDW. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and support.

It's funny, I don't know what the first thread was about but I spent 2hrs last night trying to convince my mil to go with us to wdw. She's the 2nd best person to do disney with (my sister is #1) I often tell people that I married my husband so I could be related to my MIL. (only 1/2 joking) maybe you would like to borrow my mil she's the best.

You are so lucky!!! My in-laws wait unti we buy our plane tickets and then suddenly decide to go at the same time. Then they complain about what we choose to do, ie restaurant, EE, MVMCP.

Now we can't even talk about our trips in advance, which means the kids don't get much notice. We still have fun!

I didn't read your other post but am glad it worked out for you.

I'm a MIL myself and would never invite myself to go anywhere with my childrens family.

With that being said.....

I have a dil and a sil. My dil and I are very close. As a matter of fact she went to Las Vegas with me in April. She says she has so much fun with me. She wants her and I to take the kids to WDW in Oct. This will be our second trip together to WDW. We get along great. She is a very good friend.

My MIL is going with us, but because my wonderful FIL is going, it makes it okay. She and I are not best friends, but I am crazy about my FIL. If we could just take him, oh what a wonderful trip that would be.

She is one of those kinds that likes to use something as special as Christmas to show me how I am her least favorite. Shame on her. Freaky woman.

You know what, good for you that she is not going and that it is all working out the way you want.

I think that is wonderful. I am happy for you and your DIL that you have that kind of relationship. I have tried to have a relationship with my MIL, but she will not let me. She has accused me of taking her son from her, corrupting him because he no longer believes in the religion they follow and anything else she does not like. I bet you it is my fault that her second child was a girl and not another boy.
