Mother gets arrested at magic kingdom

Poor baby! Only one year old and mom flips put because he won't "walk" the way she wants him to????? :confused3

There are SO many people in this world who should not have children...

My heart really breaks for that poor baby. Unfortunately, I was not suprised to see that she is from New Orleans. I see this type of behavior far too often here in shopping malls and grocery stores & the store employees and law enforcers just look the other way. I hope that this woman sees the error of her ways & changes. Sadly, I wouldn't be suprised if she was raised in the same manner by her mother or grandmother & she's just repeating the cycle of abuse. I know that many will disagree, but I honestly believe that her 1 year old (and any other children that she may have) should be taken from her permanently.

Although I'm not on the anti-spanking bandwagon, I can't see any reason to spank a one year old baby. And to hit him and kick him...I just don't know what is wrong with people.

So many little people hurt and bewildered. So sad. :(

I totally agree. :confused3

If she did this in public, what did she do in the privacy of her home???? :scared1:

Hoping the authorities will investigate this and protect the baby and any other children she may have! :sad2:

OMG!!
she did that in public? to a one year old??

i'm happy to hear that people had the guts to report it - a lot of times people are afraid to say anything......bravo to whoever it was who reported it to the police!!!

it says she was released on bail.....it doesn't say whether the child was taken by social services...
so does that mean the loving mother is now back with her punching bag?

They are investigating her in Florida but they would have to get them in new Orleans to check on her and her other kids. Orange county sheriff deputy's and Disney take this very seriously and I am sure they will do what ever they can to make sure this mother get what coming to her. Your right in most places no one would call 911 it a shame because they don't want to have to deal with being a witness.

I'm so glad that people got involved and reported that mother instead of looking the other way!!

so does that mean new orleans will have to take the child away?
in other words, that poor thing is stuck with his loving mother until they get back home?

i'd be in fear for his life if that's the case...

When they have to take a child's mom away from him, they try to place the kid with family if they can.

As much as we might like to solve that problem (and hurt the mom) by taking the kid, it hurts the kid to lose the mom. She might suck, but she's his mommy. He loves her.

At least when he's placed with people he knows, his entire world isn't swept away. And he doesn't enter the world of foster parenting, where you find wonderful people and ones as bad as mom.

There is no good solution.

I am sure orange county has contacted new Orleans to investigate her just in case she has other kids. The good thing is this made the news so new Orleans can't turn their head and as long as their pressure on them they will make sure the kids are safe. But not sure what was her bail agreement if she could leave the state of Florida or not if not then Florida could take the kid and I am sure the judge put in some kind of order of pertection or at least give custody to someone else like father grand parents.

there really isn't any kind of good solution for these kids (as another poster noted)....

so many kids in such horrible situations - no one year old should be subjected to punching in the stomach....there is no reason in the world to ever justify that...
and to think that a baby is subjected to that....it's difficult to think about a baby having to live like that...

Sadly its is becasue those employees have been told they are not allowed to do anything. They cannot get involved! With so many people suing they just choose to have a blind eye to that type of behavior. I risked being fired long ago by calling child services. By the time they got there the family was gone. I pray he lived to adulthood! Scary to think the child went home with that Mommy....Shades of Caylee...

Wow, I'm required by law to report anything I suspect as child abuse. How can someone get fired for reporting it? :sad2:

I keep wondering how they caught her. Did she stay in one place until security came? Did someone follow her? It just seems too easy for someone like that slip off in to the crowd and be hard to find.

they have cameras all over the parks - so it could be disney security saw her punch the baby and reported it to the police..

we've witnessed the speed and force of disney security a few times...

for example, one time when we were in line at the haunted mansion, a gang of what i guess were local kids came barreling through the line...
i don't know how else to put it....the line was very dense and long and this gang came through very very loudly and threateningly and the line just parted for them as they were really frightening....

within moments a HUGE group of disney security - both in uniform and plain clothes - came swooping in on the gang....i have never seen that sort of show of force at disney....i didn't even know they were capable of it...
it was swift and forceful and completely overpowered the gang...

really very impressive.....i should have been scared that the gang could be in disney at all, but the speed at which disney took them out was incredible..

we all assumed that they must have been watching the gang on camera as they moved through the park and took them out the moment they actually did something...

anyway.....that incident and another at epcot made me realize that disney's always watching...
