I've never heard of the Family Magic Tour. How do you sign up for it? How long is it and what's the cost?

you cal 407-wdw-tour, its $25 pp and lasts about 2-2 1/2 hours. It was great, dd had a wonderful time. Go to www.waltdisneyworld.com and in the search button type in Family Magic Tour.

So, after all this, I’m thinking to myself...is this worth it??? My daughter looked at me and asked me did the daughters want to wake up Tink or did their mothers??? There was a lot of drama in those 5 minutes in the store. After those two moms left, I went up to the register and purchased something and I asked if there were altercations like that everyday. The cm said, yes, unfortunately, the mom’s get the daughters all excited about it and then if it doesn’t happen there are a lot of tears. That is not a way I’d want to start a day at Magic Kingdom, but oh well. Flame me if you want, but I’d just let the magical moments happen if they come.

Oh I agree with you. This is my experience with waking up Tink -

Last year we had an 8:05am PS at CRT on a Saturday. I knew we'd be finishing up breakfast right about when the park opened at 9:00am. I knew about waking up Tink but I didn't tell my DD (7) about it. My plan was if at (Fantasyland) rope drop it was obvious that no one else was heading to Tinkerbell's Treasures I'd walk (!) with DD to the shop and see if we could wake up Tinkerbell. If it was obvious that another family was headed that way I wasn't going to race them for it; I'd let them go and we'd head to the rides. And since DD didn't know about it she wouldn't be disappointed.

So, the rope drops and no one is heading to Tinkerbell's Treasures. DH, DD & I walk into the shop and ask a CM about waking Tinkerbell. DD was very surprised and excited now that she was learning about this. Then, about 30 seconds later this woman comes running in the store with her 2 daughters huffing and puffing. She asks "Are you here to wake up Tinkerbell?!?". I say yes and the woman looked positively crushed. The daughters just looked like "ok, whatever". Then the woman said "We've been waiting in line at the park entrance since 7:00am. Did you have a PS?". I told her yes. She really made me feel bad!

Well, DD woke up Tinkerbell and got her Magical Moments Certificate and stickers (the other girls got some stickers too). Then we all took turns looking at Tink through the dresser keyhole.

The only other time DD got a Magical Moments Certificate was when she was the first child in the Christmas Shop in Liberty Square and got to decorate the Christmas tree. We didn't know about this and it was a nice surprise. Like you said, it's better when the moments just happen.

I just wanted to say that I've edited my report to report on the whole Tinkerbell fiasco. The family that was involved are dismembers and I quoted in my report what happened with them. I did not see the whole story apparently. Anyhow....I just wanted to clarify what actually happened before I got into the store. What a bummer..... :guilty:

Hi I'm the person who posted about the Tinkerbell incident on 9/25. First of all I want to say Thank you for editing your report and including my version of what actually happened that morning. It made me feel better, I felt bad about what happened and even though you or any of the other posters know me or my family I just felt like I needed to set it straight. I enjoyed reading your trip report and it was nice to hear that you had some magical moments. I always find it interesting to read about peoples trips especially when they are there at the same time. Thanks again!

What a wonderful report - now I'm really excited!

Question about Soarin'... DH has a thing about heights, so he's thinking he should skip this one... Would a fear of heights make this a "stay away from" ride?

I also have a fear of heights and was a little leary about riding but I am so glad I did. It was awesome and I even kept my eyes open!! OK, they did have to pry my hands off the handle afer the ride but it was great!!

really enjoyed your report - thanks for sharing you many magical moments - and what a great photo!

Thanks so much for sharing. I enjoyed reading it very much. DD (9) and I are going on our second Mommy/Daughter only trip this Summer. Your report brought back memories of spending special times and looking foward to more together on our next trip.

Glad to read about so much Pixie Dust :wizard: being tossed your DD's way. I could feel the excitement for you both just reading about it.

Thanks again for sharing :sunny:
