My DD17 and I will be at WDW for a few days before my DH and DS arrive. We are going to Via Napoli one night and I need one more reservation. Something with great atmosphere and food. Any suggestions?? We are thinking Chef de France and have never been. She is a picky eater and loves carbs. I hate to do another Italian since we are doing one.

Over the 10 days we will be at:

Via Napoli
Le Cellier
Big River Grill
Wolfgang Pucks
Cali Grill
Plant Hollywood
Narcoossee
Ohana

Mostly all dinners. Any ideas??

A great mother-daughter experience might be the Afternoon Tea at the Garden View Lounge at the Grand Floridian (not included with DDP though). According to the menu, you can get sandwiches, scones, tarts, and pastries...talk about carbs! :goodvibes I have never eaten there, but my mom and I love to go out for "tea" when we get together. I'm hoping the next time she comes with us to WDW, we can go there.

But if you're looking for something on the DDP, then maybe a buffet is a good option. You're picky eater is sure to find something. If she's not into characters, Hollywood and Vine at DH doesn't have characters at dinner. And Biergarten is great!

I realize shes 17 but Cinderellas Royal Table is always a great bet for any aged Princess;) I think lunch doesnt have characters. I love going there I think my DD and I will go there for years to come just for the atmosphere and memories.

We are on the DP and only have 1 TS left. I thought about CRT and last time we were there she was 5 and doesn't remember it. Maybe we can pay OOP for the othre ressie. It's a thought;)

Last time we were at H&V we were much less than thrilled and she would eat nothing at the Biergarten, but the Tea Room may be an option for a nice lunch:thumbsup2

We love Chefs de France!! It would def be a great place to go! We are picky eaters and we LOVE their filet and au gratin potatoes!! We also love Chef Mickeys. It is a character buffet with a little bit of everything!

But... for you two... I would say Chefs de France first! :thumbsup2

I think the Afternoon Tea is an excellent idea but it's not on the dining plan.

Chefs de France is a nice choice. I prefer lunch there over dinner.

Les Chefs de France is a great choice. I ate there for the first time when my sister & I did a girls' trip in March. We were seated by the window, and it was so fun to people watch! The food was really good. I had the prix fixe, which is allowed on the DDP. You say your daughter loves carbs - the mac & cheese entree is to die for!! It is so rich and so delish!

The only negative I have to say about the place is that our service was s-l-o-w!! I think it was our server; he seemed to be very new to the country. We were in the restaurant for a good 2 hours after we were seated. Since we didn't have any plans for after dinner, it was ok with us. We just enjoyed a glass of wine and people-watched.

Rose and Crown is good, and if you can be seated on the patio, you have a fabulous view of IllumiNations. Their fried fish is some of the best I've had, and so is their pork loin. Not a lot of options in the carbs department, but the view of IllumiNations alone gives it great ambiance points!

Chefs de France, ick

I would got to Il Mulino, she can get her carbs on there!

If you like the idea of CRT, but only have one TS left, how about Akershus? We all loved it. And yes, I realize your daughter is 17, but isn't everyone a kid at WDW?

I would definitely do CRT. As a mom with four grown babies, I'd go for it in a heartbeat. I'd love another chance to dine at Cindy's with my daughter....just the two of us.:cloud9:
