Since I know that everyone here is always full of good ideas and suggestions, I come in search of restaurant suggestions. I am planning a surprise trip :goodvibes for my mom and myself (25) in the spring (I know it's way early to be planning restaurants, but I can't help myself, especially on slow Fridays at work) and suddenly I am at a loss of where to eat. My mom doesn't eat red meat, but eats chicken and LOVES seafood!! I eat pretty much anything- seafood, beef, chicken. So, where should we eat- I have four days to plan out. I want to do one character breakfast as well, but not Chef Mickey's- it's just a little too over the top for me in the morning ::MickeyMo

Well,

she'd probably enjoy the Primetime 50's Cafe at MGM. Good fried chicken. We never miss it.

herc.

For your character breakfast, I suggest the Princess Storybook Breakfast at Norway. It's not a manic as Mickey and the food is quite good.

Coral Reef, while pricey, is a lovely restaurant and the food is okay. I'd think that would be a fun lunch or dinner for you two.

I'd also recommend dinner at California Grill -- the food is wonderful, service terrific, and the view can be breathtaking.

Have a good trip with your mom.

Hi,

When my Mom and I would travel together, she would always request the California Grill, the Flying Fish, and Artist Point. As for breakfast, her favorite was the Crystal Palace.

Enjoy your trip.

What about Jiko? Great food, and super cool atmosphere. It also gives you a chance to check out AKL if you aren't staying there.

Fultons Crab House, great seafood, DTD
Cape May Cafe, Clam bake for dinner also great character breakfest, BCV
Cali Grille, Contempory
Almost all of the signature restaurants have a chicken dish or two and a seafood dish or two. Check the menus.

My mom and I took a trip this past August and had so much fun :goodvibes

Our favorite character breakfast is CP. We thought the food selection was the best, and of course, we loved the characters. If your mom loves seafood, I suggest Flying Fish or Cape May Cafe for dinner. My mom and I also love O'Hana (I don't eat red meat either, and had no trouble eating here). Good luck :)

My mom and I tried the Grand Floridian afternoon tea about 3 years ago, and have made it a tradition to go back every year. It's really nice!

If you order the Grand Tea, you get tea sandwiches, scones, and dessert. It will definitely do for a lunch!

If fancy, upscale (read "fairly expensive" ;) )food suits you and your budget, I've heard fabulous things about BlueZoo at the Dolphin.

I've been drooling at the menu and have made reservations in November, as my family craves good seafood.

Wow, i love all the suggestions! I think we will probably do Crystal Palace for breakfast, assuming I like it when I go for the first time this November :goodvibes

Thanks for all the seafood suggestions, mom LOVES salmon and I want to make sure she gets some while we are there.

I am so excited, how will I keep this secret?! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

California Grill around WISHES time (or anytime) is very nice :) plus you can check out the shops on the concourse level and ride the monorail in.
