Mother/Daughter August 2012 Two Weeks QSDP

Day 12 was another non-park day. We headed over to Downtown Disney and had lunch at Cooke’s of Dublin. I had the chicken and field mushroom pie with fries. This was very, very good. DD had the original one and one. I thought it looked good but she didn’t like it. We both had soft serve ice cream for dessert. The one thing we both didn’t like about this was getting dessert. To get dessert, DD had to go back to the line where people were ordering because no one brought out the dessert.

This was SO good!

I was about ½ finished with the ice cream before I realized I hadn’t taken a picture!

We went back to Goofy’s Candy Co. to get some treats.

I got a mammoth cashew roll and turtle fudge. DD got another toffee bar and a smores bar. These were all very yummy. I wish I had one now.

For dinner we headed over to Art of Animation. It was at this point that DD stopped writing down everything we were eating so I am going to have to rely on my memory. She did write down her meal which was a build your own burger with cheese, chipotle BBQ sauce and bacon. She had a mango smoothie for dessert. She also got cheesy pesto bread as a snack. She enjoyed this meal.

I’m fairly certain what I got was the Mongolian grill fish with rice. I had spinach as my side dish and pistachio gelato for dessert. This was a really good meal!

On day 13 we were back to Sunshine Seasons. DD had the pork chop again with mashed potatoes. She had the strawberry shortcake for dessert. I had the sweet and sour chicken with rice. I also had the strawberry shortcake for dessert. The sweet and sour chicken was good, but not as good as the pork chop I’d had the first time we were here. The strawberry shortcake is excellent.

We stopped for a snack at the Fife & Drum Tavern. We both wanted the jalapeno pretzels and we wanted to try the American Dream which is a combination of soft ice cream with raspberry and strawberry slush. They did not have the raspberry or strawberry slush so they made it with lemon instead. I think the lemon was better than the other flavors but DD was disappointed. We went there again the next day and DD got another one, but again she had to get lemon.

We love the jalapeno pretzels!

We were back to ASMu for dinner. It looks like I got chicken and pasta with a salad. I had a sundae for dessert. DD had a burger and fries with an ice cream cookie for dessert. The meal was really good and I thought maybe we should have had more meals here, especially on days we weren’t at the parks so we could have avoided taking 4 buses to go to and from another resort.

Day 14! It’s our last day! We were back at Starring Rolls for lunch. The worst part of going there was finding a table. They don’t have enough tables. We had meals similar to our previous time there. I had the red velvet cheesecake cupcake instead of the chocolate peanut butter one. I liked the chocolate peanut butter one better but they were both very good. DD had the butterfinger cupcake which was good but didn’t meet her expectations. I think her expectations were very high after reading some reviews here. I still think Starring Rolls is the best counter service at the Studios.

For dinner we were back at Kringla. DD had exactly the same meal she had before. I tried the club sandwich instead of the beef sandwich. The club sandwich is good, but I prefer the beef. I ended up taking my pretzel home and eating it after I returned. It was still very good.

Since it was the last day and we still had snack credits left we stopped at Karamel Kuche and I got 2 caramels which I took home. It is probably good I didn’t have these earlier because I thought they were so incredibly good I may have used all my snack credits on them.

Instead of getting breakfast the next morning we stopped at the food court at ASMu before we went back to our room and got meals. We ate part and saved the rest for “breakfast” the next morning. I had a turkey sandwich with vinegar & salt chips. Oh, I loved those chips! I had a sundae for dessert. The sandwich was my breakfast. DD had another burger and ice cream cookie sandwich.

So, that’s it! I hope you enjoyed sharing our Disney dining.

Thank you! I really enjoyed your reviews. We are staying at AoA in March and I am definitely going to make time to eat at Landscape of Flavors.

And every trip I say that I am going to try the sandwiches at Starring Rolls and I never do. I am going to try to make it a priority next trip!

As the daughter from this trip I must say the 1st meal was awesome. The mashed potatoes and mac and cheese were carb comfort food heaven. I am always surprised how much I enjoy the salmon at DW. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was dessert, but that was just because the chocolate sauce tasted like Hershey's chocolate sauce and I was expecting more of a fudge kind of sauce. Still good though. I intended on getting soft serve ice cream but the machine was down. Thanks for doing all the posting mom! :wave2:
