The next trip down to WDW we'd like to bring our Sheltie with us. We're looking for motels that allow dogs (anywhere from Fayetteville, NC to Manning , SC). Are there any you've used along that route?

We stayed at South of the Border on the NC/SC line a few years ago. It was as tacky as their signs, but clean, very large rooms and they accept pets.

I think that Comfort Inns and Motel 6s accept pets. I've never stayed in a Motel 6, but we stayed at a Comfort Inn with our dog once. It was nice since they didn't even ask how big he was (he's 65 pounds and too big for a lot of hotels), but they made us stay in a smoking room since people who stay in non-smoking rooms often have allergies.

Check out www.petswelcome.com for hotels that accept pets.

I believe if you go to Mapquest and put your route in, they will list pet-friendly hotels along your way.

Hope it helps!

:D

Update on my last post, it was Days Inn and not Comfort Inn. I get all of those Inns mixed up. :D
