most "worth it" counter service?

Our adrs are all set, but I am looking for suggestions for our counter service meals. Probably about 3 or 4 each for lunch and dinner. Mainly at the other three parks, because we are found some big meals at Mk. Which restaurants will take the best advantage of the dining plan?

In my family's experience, these have both the largest and tastiest portions in the parks:

MK - Cosmic Ray's

EP - Sunshine Seasons or Tangerine Cafe (Morocco)

HS - Starring Rolls (the giant sandwiches)

AK - Flame Tree BBQ

I'm kind of curious to responses as well... I've never done quick service dining plan before ... This year we have 8 to use. Anyone have any input on the Wolfgang pucks at DTD?

Be Our Guest should definitely be at the top of any counter service list. We had lunch there in August and I'm so happy we canceled dinner reservations and just had lunch instead. The menu is much more appealing, still get the experience, and a very good value on the DP. Worth the price of admission just to see the inside of the castle! Make sure to take a little time and walk through all the rooms.

Also liked Columbia Harbor House at MK. Huge portions and food was quite good.

Sunshine Seasons at Epcot offers a great selection. Great if you've got a picky family or different tastes. Desserts there are amazing! Instead of the typical pudding or pre-fab cheesecake, you get actual pastries. Had a strawberries and cream cake that was delicious.

Not a great value on the DP, because their prices are reasonable to begin with, but Earl of Sandwich at DTD has really good, different food.

You might also want to check out some of the resort food courts. I know POR has a make your own pasta that's quite good.

MK-We love Columbia house because the fare is quite different and the portion size is huge.

Epcot--hands down, our favorite counter service restaurant is Marakesh's Tangierine Cafe . The food is amazing; the portions are huge and the kids meal actually has a hamburger (which American oddly does not). We all adore this.
England's fish and chips quick service makes my husband leap for joy.
The food court at the Land (Sunshine Seasons?)is amazing. So many dining choices, a great place to go if you have a variety of eaters.

HS- We prefer the Backlot Express--enjoy the paninis , the ample sitting.

I think instead of looking for places to eat where you get the most food for your money so to speak, it would be better to actually look at the menus on Allears.net and find the places that have food you like.

If you are worried about making sure you get the most bang for your buck, that is one of the main reasons I would never PAY for any dining plan because you can eat cheaper OOP. But if you got the dining plan free who cares? It didn't cost you anything, so eat the food you like.

Thanks for all the replies. We aren't really picky, and like to try new things. Our kids can be a little funny about food sometimes though. I kinda of started thinking that the DDP wasn't for us just recently. We are leaving in three weeks though, so I won't change it. According to the calculators I am saving a little money so who knows... I have lots to consider at meal time though!

My favorite CS is Tangierine Cafe in Epcot.

I didn't care for most other CS places.

Flame Tree BBQ in AK is no longer a "good value" in my opinion, at least not if you want to order the Chicken & Ribs Combo -- it's now over $15 (a $3 increase).

Columbia Harbour House in MK has decent fish & chips and the portion is generous. They also offer salmon w/ couscous if you're wanting something healthier.

Pepper Market at Coronado Springs Resort is a good value in the sense that it is essentially like a TS restaurant for a CS credit. The food is pretty good, and better than most CS locations.

DHS has Starring Rolls which I've heard has huge sandwiches. I have not eaten here (except for a yummy cupcake). Since you can choose one of their huge cupcakes for your dessert, I would consider this a great value.

Wolfgang Puck's Express at DTD !

On the dining plan, Wolfgang Puck Express is an awesome use of quick service credits. I've had better meals at WPE than at some table service spots.

We have never paid for the dining plan, but have gotten it free a few times (including next week ). It has never crossed my mind to be concerned about the value or cost of the food we order, probably because we never pay for the dining plan.

For example, I know that the Earl of Sandwich is a bit cheaper than some other QS spots. However since my whole family likes eating there I'm guessing we will wind up burning 4 QS credits there next week. Totally "worth it", but not a matter of getting the most for the credit.

We had an awesome dinner last night at wolfgang express marketplace at DTD. It is a great use of a counter service. If we would have paid out of pocket our bill was over 60.00 for 2 adults and 1 child. Also love flame tree barbecue at animal kingdom.

Epcot - France at pastry shop - YUMMY
AK - Flame Tree BBQ - follow the path toward the back, great views of the water, and rollercoaster.
DHS - for my family there is not really any counter service here that we like, so we normal get the boat over to Epcot and grab some lunch.
DTD - Earl of Sandwich or Wolfgang pucks
POR and POFQ - have really good choices for meals, you might want to check there menu out.

BOG and WPE Marketplace.
