Most Under-Rated Ride/Attraction at WDW

I haven't done a lot of these. I am going to have to make a list for our next trip!
Oh not exactly a secret but I did Tom Sawyer's Island for the first time this year. It was a highlight of our MK day!

For me, it would be the various trails at Ak, especially right after the Safari. Everyone is in such a hurry after doing the Safari first thing that they don't bother to stop and walk the trail. They're in such a hurry to ride Dinosaur or the Rapids that they don't take the time to enjoy some of the best things about AK. That's why people can do AK in a half a day. We take all day and that's not enough time.

We really love many mentioned so far - the AK trails, the Lion King, TTA, Crush, El Rio de Tiempo, Flights of Wonder.

I would add two others - Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse (real special because my DD8 princess: loves the movie!), and, our No#1 - Ellen's Energy Adventure.

We also love to spend a couple hours at Rafiki's Planet Watch, which we love. We saw the talking recycling can there this weekend (forget his name), and Ice Station Cool.

.....TTA.....without a doubt, since day 1. Some of my very best rides have been on it, at the end, when the CM says "don't bother gettin up...you look like you need another round." aaaaaaaahhhhhhh.......

TTA, COP, & IASW.

These three rides are so relaxing and comfortable on a long hot, tiring day at the Magic Kingdom. IASW is the first ride we dart to get on when we arrive at the MK. We absolutely love all three.

My DD(6) and I loved Carousel of Progress. We happened upon it when my DH and DS went on Space Mountain last year (DS was too short). We also loved TTA. We rode four times, talking about the park and just relaxing. Nice quiet MOTHER/DAUGHTER time.

Turtle Talk with Crush isn't being talked about much (yet), but it's a fascinating use of technology. The revised '05 Guide should have a very positive review of it.

In the Magic Kingdom, the Swiss Family Treehouse is under-appreciated, if not under-rated. When you're at the top, notice how the imagineeers have concealed with leaves most of the views of areas outside Adventureland. Just a fantastic display of design competence. Lots of detailed touches throughout the walk. And what kid, young or old, looks at the water wheel and doesn't want one?

I'm putting my vote in for the TTA I can't ever remember having to stand in a long line for it...and it is so relaxing and has such nice views!

I too loved the People Mover...from the days when my now 23 year old was a baby...It was sometimes so nice to just SIT and not have to react to a barrage of stimuli.

American Adventure: now there's a place to nurse a baby!!!! And it never fails to make me cry. I think we went first when Epcot opened...and still try to catch it every visit tho missed it last time (candlelight processsional instead.) BUT: AFTER or BEFORE you see the American Adventure, what many people miss are the American 'Singers' who sing a capella for us in the Rotunda. They are a most talented group....and they do have a well known presence and name which escapes me for the moment. (I have HALFheimers)

Colorado Belle

TTA, ALL THE WAY!! Ever since my first trip to MK (27 years ago, when I was just 3!), we've had a tradition of riding it twice. We ride it when we're in Tomorrowland, and then, before we leave or go sit for parade/fireworks, we go ride it again. It's almost always our last ride of the day. I have no idea how that got started, but now that I live here, I still do it, lol!

I'm also a huge COP fan! And AA? It's what inspired me to get into film/media in the first place!

Funny/Sad AA Story: We took a trip to WDW a few years ago, when my sister was about 6/7 months pregnant with my youngest nephew. We were there shortly after JFK Jr. had passed away. If you know the closing montage of AA, you know that the famous shot of JFK Jr. saluting is included. My sister's pregnancy hormones shot into overdrive during the show, and when that image came up, she started WAILING. The entire theater turned around to stare. Even after we got outside, we had to sit for half an hour until her hormones calmed down, and she was able to stop crying. :confused3

I like the ride at Norway in Epcot, it's quite a sedate river ride but I think its cool! :wave2:

I love Spaceship Earth. It is so relaxing, I almost fall asleep. My brother and cousin think it's boring

the bird show at AK - I think its called flights of wonder
really cute show and we missed it for years

I agree. I went to AK for the first time in November and a full day wasn't enough time at all. We were there for 6 hours and didn't even get to see any of the shows.

I also agree about the TTA in MK. There is also the Hall of Presidents, it is the best 45 minutes in air conditioning and a comfy seat to take a nap in on those hot summer days! :rotfl: We ALWAYS go there when we run out of energy during the summer and always emerge revitalized and ready for some more touring. We never miss it! Also Cranium Command at EPCOT. I can't wait to take the kids to see Crush at EPCOT.  :goodvibes

I think the TTA in MK and Spaceship Earth in Epcot are the most underrated rides in WDW. I think they are both relaxing, wonderful rides but some people just don't like them :sad2:

I'm shocked that my choice for most under-rated ride is the same as everyone else's--the TTA (I've always called it the WEDWay People Mover too). There is never a line, it is relaxing and gives you a different view of the park. I'm always worried that it will be shut down due to lack of interest. But if we all love it, maybe it will be around for awhile!

My vote goes for Spaceship Earth and the Great Movie Ride.

TTA and Spaceship Earth are wildy underrated but wonderful, quintessentially Disney.

BUT...Carousel of Progress and Walt Disney: One Man's Dream should be required viewing of anyone who sets foot at Disney, for anyone who claims to be a fan of Disney. These aren't just great attractions, they are important. Important to Disney's heritage. I get so mad when these attractions aren't given maximum stars and high priority by Disney guide books. It's sad. If it weren't for Walt and his vision there would be no Walt Disney World, no Disney Magic, no Mickey Mouse. *shudder*
