It's probably a tie for me.

1a. Just watching my kids everytime we are there, seeing those great big smiles, looking in their eyes and wondering what they are thinking....

1b. Carrying a sleeping child and heading back to the hotel. I used to see people do that all the time before I had kids, and I never gave it a second thought. Now, I've treasured everytime I've had to do it because I know those days are just about over. Our daughter just turned 5, so I'll still probably get that chance this time around. But, our son will be 8 just after we return this trip and I haven't had to do that for awhile with him. Everytime we've been there and I've had to do it, I realize they are just a little bit bigger than they were last time. I sure am glad they turn the lights off on the buses.

1c. Last summer me and my son doing an e-night at MK. Wife and daughter went back to the hotel and we had such great fun running back and forth between Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain...... dad and his boy.

1. would have to be my daughter being married at WDW!

2. But a close second was seeing my grandson last July at 10 months of age getting his first haircut at the WDW barbershop! That barber did such a wonderful job with him!

3. then seeing his first fireworks at MK on 4th of July WOW!

Looking forward to more memories in what does my counter say 22 days?

Being with my DH. We came to Disneyworld on our honeymoon 6 1/2 years ago and not knowing much about what was all to do there. Each time we return it brings back wonderful memories.

We hope to add to those memories on our next trip!

Having just returned from a 10 day anniversary trip without the kids:

1) Royal treatment throughout the park in the form of:
a) a bus headed for MK only to reroute and become our personal bus to WL
b) a ride in the front car of the monorail
c) gifted champagne and strawberries at Illumination time at Rose and Crown
d) chocolate and cookie congratulations at Boma
e) Re-hitchin ceremony at The Garden Grill

but the most memorable for me was DH gifting me with a diamond anniversary band just as the fireworks of Illumination were sparkling the sky above.

Truly a memorable trip.

DH propsed on BTMRR, since I was slightly unsure of the ride(I wasn't much of a coaster fan back then, converted now:p ) I asked him if he could repeat it when we were of the ride. He made me sweat it out and didn't bring it up until a few hours later in SFTreeHouse...asked if I'd be o.k.if that's all we had, would I marry him anyway...we will be there this Aug. to celebrate DS 9 b-day, but we leave just3 days B4 our 17 aniv., so will celebrate that as well. My kids feeding the squirrells off of Main Street for the first time and thinking they trained them is a pretty close second.

One of my favorite memories is riding on the carousel with my youngest nephew, who was five at the time. He wasn't very brave on the trip, so he wanted to skip a lot of the rides. I had been to WDW a couple months earlier, so I would stay with my nephew when he was too afraid of a ride. He didn't want to go on Snow White, so I took him on the carousel. Just seeing the smile on his face, and seeing how happy he was on the carousel was one of my happiest moments ever at Disney World.

Another amazing memory is of the Tapestry of Nations parade. I was watching it with my sister, and her family, and I watched as one of the puppets came over to them. I have a great picture of my sister, brother-in-law, niece, and nephew. They all look so happy watching the parade.

I will never forget the first time DH and I took our kids. DD was 3 at the time and she was sitting on DH's shoulders to watch the Tapestry of Nations parade. Her grandma had just bought her a little Pegasus and she was holding it and making it dance to the music. A butterfly puppet came over and touched her very gently on the hand. The look in her eye was priceless. I still get a little tear when I watch the video.

We took our oldest DS when he was 5. The very first time we went on the monorail "Big John" asked him if this was his first time to WDW and did he want to sit up front with the driver. I'll never forget the look on his face as his very first monorail trip was up front. I must've snapped a whole roll of pictures so I wouldn't miss a single second.

And then, later in our trip, at Epcot we were waiting for the Illuminations show to start. Our poor DS was sooo tired but was being a real trooper. A wonderful CM named Maggie started talking to him and to boost his spirits she put a special sign on the Epcot board. It read "Welcome to EPCOT Joshua!" He was so thrilled and of course we took loads of pictures and taped it.

I wonder what kind of memories we'll make with our youngest DS. I can't wait to find out!!

Most treasured moment....right now I would have to say when my youngest DD (2 1/2 at the time) ran up to Snow White who was waiting for her with open arms. Snow White then bent over and kissed her on the forehead leaving a big red lipstick mark. Many hearts were melting after that...including mine! ;)

This one is easy....breakfast in Cinderella's Castle with my DD (3 at the time). Watching her interact with Snow White and Cinderella was simply precious. She tried to sing "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" to Cinderella...toooooo cute!

I guess for me it would be during the first trip that we took our DD on. She was nine and very apprehensive about getting on ANY of the rides...much less any of the rollercoasters. Needless to say it was like pulling teeth getting her on POTC and the Haunted Mansion so I figured BTMR and Space Mountain were out of the question...boy was I wrong!

After watching her waffle between fear and panic in line for Thunder Mountain (and before anybody protest us making her ride it was her idea) she rode...front care...and after the stun effect of her first coaster ride wore off...she was hungry for more!

Needless to say she would've rode BTMR and Space Mountain the entire week we were there and not complained once...we had given birth to a coaster freak...and I love it! I'm espcially happy that her love came from a Disney coaster...theming and all...and I know it was the magic of the parks that helped make this an amazing eye opening experience for her and a heart warming memory for her mother and me.

I can't wait to take our two new kids for their first trip next year!

I have this on my website - it was a very special thing

My DD8 left her two favourite toys behind at Hoop Dee Doo on the table - we thought they were gone for good.

She remembered about them when we were at downtown disney after the show... we were both upset about it but when we got back to the hotel (AKL) and went up to our room - they were back! Sitting up on my DD's bed with a handwritten note.

"Dear Noel - We had fun at dinner but we missed you after!!! We had a big adventure and now we are ready for bed"

I still have no idea how they got back to the AKL from Fort Wilderness, who put them in the room and who wrote the note...

I balled my eyes out when I saw them on her bed.. just could not beleive that the CM's at FW would find them and send them so quickly instead of just dropping them at Lost and Found.

Here is the link to the story with a photo........ the best thing that ever happened at Disney.

Year DS was 6 and was picked by Merlin to pull the sword out of the stone. Put a crown and cape on him and marched him around - gave him a certificate and a medal to wear around his neck - the CMs made such a fuss over him everywhere he went with that medal on!
Then the year younger DD graduated h.s. and my kids and their friends and cousins were all chosen to dance can-can-line fashion in the MK parade stop- I have the greatest picture of these teens dancing arm in arm with the little guys and the characters in the middle of Main Street ! - Oh yeah, and they even humoured me one day by wearing the matching Mickey shirts I bought them for the trip - one day was more than enough for me!:smooth:

Without a doubt....

on our last day of vacation, we were at the Magic Kingdom. My 7 year old son said, "Mom, thanks for planning a really great vacation!" and then my 9 year old son, in his matter-of-fact voice added, "Yeah. I think this has been the best week of my life."

That's why we're going back in December.

Our first trip to Magic Kingdom when DD was 2 1/2. She was so excited when she got off the carrousel she went running to daddy and ran right out of her shoe, and she didn't even realize it until someone picked it up and brought it to us.

Like everyone else, I have a few...

1. Our May 2002 trip when our son gave Mickey Mouse his binky:D I had been trying to get him to give it up and finally I decided he was going to give it to Mickey Mouse. I kept talking it up for months and my husband said dont get upset when it did not work:rolleyes: Well, our first night, I made PS for dinner at Chef Mickeys. I told our server what was going to happen so she could give Mickey the heads up. Well, he came over to the table, and I handed Matt his binky and asked what he was going to do...he popped it in his mouth 1 last time and when Mickey came to the table handed it right to him:D :D We were able to snap a perfect picture of it in Mickey's hand, before he slid it back to me under the table. He never asked for it again. I could not believe it worked!!! I tell that story to everyone and they think it was the best idea LOL!!

My other most treasured moments...

Our son's first trip at 13 months old...where he got to meet his future bride ;) (she knows who she is LOL:D )

Our honeymoon

Our first DVC trip at the Boardwalk, our 2nd DVC trip to OKW and our 3rd DVC trip at the Boardwalk with the amazing boardwalk view:D :D

Basically, every single trip because I know there will be so many more!!!!

18 month old DS on first day at MK gets to see Minnie Mouse as we are walking in. ( remember, the charectors were very scarce in those days) He is just kind of standing there looking in awe. Minnie pushes (nicely) two other kids out of the way and scoops DS in her arms as she kneals down to him.

I know that is true because I have on video tape!!!

Strange to remember that because DS is now almost 21 and currently working at Stormalong Bay as a lifeguard on the Disney College Program. As a matter of fact his first day onsite at the resort is tomorrow. (Can you tell I am a proud Parent?)

Disney has been and intrgral part of my family's life for the past 23 yrs and it seems it will continue to the next generation!

too many to list but here goes-
my daughter was 6 and loved Minnie- it was back when you were chosen to be in RTM parade- so my mom the determined grandma asked fairy godmother for a wish- she wanted to get my daughter into the parade to dance -fairy godmother told her to look for CMs in conductor uniforms with stickers- so my mom begged several CMs until she found one who gave her a sticker the cm said my daughter would need to dance with a prince DD was upset no mommy I want to dance with Minnie well the float stopped and Minnie came down arms open just for my daugher and we have several pictures of her beaming into Minnie's eyes and the two of them danced and danced!! Even now at age 12 she says it was the best moment of her whole life and often remarks it could never happen again!

MY son begged me to buy talking Stich- finally grandma (note a theme) gave in well my son was overstimulated so we diecide to take him with us to MGM and my mom said lets see if we can get stich signed just to keep him busy while the little one saw the bear show- well Stich made a huge deal out of my son and the toy and tried to "take" DS home the CMs scolded stich which was so cool and Lilo kept trying to take the toy too- they played with him for a long time it was so cute and he still talks about it-

DD got chosen as ruler of the relm and a cute boy was her body guard she loved it

We were late for dinner one night and decided to change our minds and treat ourselves to coral seas it was my mom's b-day it was last minute but we got in and they gave us a seat at the tank - we were there a few minutes and Mickey suba dove by the window- he stopped to blow kisses to my 2 year old and she was out her mind escatic she talks about it all the time as her best moment- they told us it only happens once every other month or so!! WOW her face was priceless!!

My son loves Tigger the most and he got to ride in the honey pot with him for the first ride of the day- he beamed all day long saying I rode with Tigger to anyone who would listen!

Also Food and fun was amazing - long gone

AND Mickey's birthday bash - also long gone- Mickey gave our DD a gift we slipped him- she'll never forget that either-

First haircut Maura blew bubbles and put mickey barettes in her hair- priceless-

As I said too many to list- I sit here crying as I think of more and more - guess that is why we go back 8-7-03!!

:p

On a very uncrowded e-night, watching Chip push my then 13 year old DD around in a stroller. My 7 year DD was watching and Dale came up and danced with her in front of the castle. Then the four of them danced around togeter.

Second would be Pooh and Tigger skipping thru Fantasyland with my daughters until they got to the spot they were going to sign autographs. I love to see the characters interacting with my older daughter because she becomes a young girl(7 year old) again.

We leave again in 33 days and DD age 15 now can't wait to see the characters.

The magic of Disney that makes us all feel young again!:D

Back in the '80's when my Mother and I took my Granny to WDW when she was 89 yeas old. When my Mom was pushing her up Main Street at MK and she saw the castle and also when Mickey and Minnie kissed her on the head, I swear I saw the years melt away from her face, and I saw the girl that she once was. This is a very special memory for me, because my Granny had a stroke several months after that trip and past away.

Thanks, for this thread, and the good cry this morning.
