Most Romantic Restaurant?

I will have one free evening the week we are staying for wife and I to go out alone. I currently have reservations at Citrico's that night but that was pulled from the air at the last minute.

We are staying at the AKL and will be dining at:
Jiko's, Biergarten, The Brown Derby, 1900 Park Fare, Restaurant Akershush, Boma's, and Whispering Canyon the other nights we are there.

(we have a 7-year old with us, which is why we are going to 1900 Park Fare and Akershush). I am good with all of the reservations except Citrico's and Whispering Canyon.

For Citrico's, I know it is a good restaurant, but I'd be interested in knowing what people's opinions are of the most romantic dinner-for-two restaurant is (and Victoria and Albert's is not in my budget LOL - anything else goes).

For Whispering Canyon, I have serious doubts. It is the last night of our visit and we'll be at Magic Kingdom that day. And it's a boat ride to WL for it. That's the extent of my reasoning. But I think I might prefer dinner somewhere else, at the WL, Contemporary, Polynesian, or Grand Floridian. Would welcome suggestions for this last night dinner.

Thank you for your help. :)

I see so many posts here with abreviations or codes of some kind... is there a master list somewhere? :)

DW = ?, DH = ? DD = ? (I've sort of figured them out, but I'm not 100% - and I am more worried about the ones I haven't come across yet than I am about the ones I have already seen and largely decoded).

Thanks!

We liked Whispering Canyon, but probably wouldn't go back-it was ok, not great.
As far as romantic, we like California Grill-late ressies, seated by the window. Citricos, Victoria and Alberts, but the best was a wine and cheese picnic basket on a boat ride on Seven Seas Lagoon.

IMO I like either Artist Point at WL or Wolfgang Puck's upstairs dinning. DH and I did them both when we went alone and they were fantastic. The food, service, atmosphere were all great. Good luck on your choice!!!! pixiedust: :tink:

DH and I went to Artist Point on our honeymoon and it was very nice. Our most recent fave is California Grill highly recommend it for fireworks. It is romantic with our without the kids. Califonia Grill is pricey but you can watch what you eat just get a meal and no salad....If you are on the dining plan it is the best!

My wife and I went to CG last May for our 20th anniversary. We had ressies around the time of Wishes. It was the most romantic meal we've ever had. After our appetizer (sp?) but before our main course Wishes started. We went out on the observation deck and watched the fire works and when we came back our dinner was waiting.

It was fantastic. We never felt hurried. Our server was the best, never intrusive but there when we needed him. In short, it was our best meal together ever. There may be individual parts of the meal that have been better else where, but added all together, it was the best.

DISBoard Abbreviations Hope that helps :wave2:

I would make a suggestion I made in another thread and that would be Flying Fish. Ask to sit at the counter, over by the corner, between the kitchen and the bar. It affords some awesome opportunities for interactions with the Chefs and some great "nibbler samples" on the house. The have a signature strip steak and a wide array of fish offerings.

Go early.......like 5 - 5:30 if you can swing it, then for the rest of a romantic evening, walk around the lake over to the International Gateway at Epcot and go see Illuminations. A perfect viewing spot for that would be near Morroco.

Of the ones mentioned, we have been to California Grill, Artist Point, and Jiko. In my opinion, Jiko is the most romantic setting. The restaurant is very pretty and the whole ambiance is very relaxing, not to mention great food! AP was great, too, but not as romantic to me. I remember a lot of kids at CG when we went for our anniversary, and nothing against kids, but not my idea of romance! (and w/ an 18 month old, I know!)
