Most Romantic Moderate Resort

Hi everyone! This is a fantastic board...just discovered it a few days ago. I am planning on visiting the Mouse on my spring break from law school.

I will be coming with my significant other. We are on a budget, so we are definitely looking for a moderate resort.

What are your opinions regarding which moderate resort is the most romantic?

I think by far the most romantic would be the Port Orleans Riverside the mansions part. My husband and I went there back when it was Dixie Landings. It is very nice.

The POR is the most romantic moderate resort. If you want a really special experience request a room in the mansions and take the carriage ride. Also, take the boat to DD at night you'll love it. Hope you have a good time!

Which mansion would you recommend at POR? Also, is the POFQ romantic or is it more of a "party" scene?

I stayed in Oak Manor but would recommend anyone but Acadian House since it is so far away from everything. POFQ is nice, but its not as romantic as POR.

I would have to agree that it is Port Orleans Riverside, (but only if you stay in the Mansions) You should ask for the Magnolia Bend Plantation. Otherwise you may get put in the Alligator Buyou section. I hear the Alligator Buyou is very nice, But In my opinion, I wouldn't think it is very romantic. (It's Rustic Looking).

DF and I are going to PORT ORLEAN RIVERSIDE for our Honeymoon. We requested a Mansion room, so hopefully Disney will honor our request. My second choice for a Moderate Romantic resort would be Carribean Beach. The beach and the Hammocks make this romantic, it's got sort of a breezy feel to it, and there it usually nightly entertainment. This was out of the question for me and DH as far as honeymooning here because I have already stayed at this resort before and we wanted to stay some place where neither one of us has been. I guess it all depends on your preference. IMO, Port Orleans Riverside has a sort of "Gone with the wind" Southern feel to it. And if you are looking to add some romantic activities, You can take a horse drawn carriage ride at Port Orleans Riverside, and you can't do that at Carribean Beach! But than again, you can't lay on the beach at Port Orleans. Hope this helps, and good luck!

I'm with everyone else except that you HAVE to have a mansion. I stayed at AB and I thought it was very romantic. Yes it's more rustic, but I don't think that takes away from the romance. That being said I would state that you prefer the mansions, but do NOT worry about being dissapointed in AB!

May I suggest Coronado Springs resort? Our family loves the southwest feel and laying in the hammocks on the beach near the cabanas at night with that someone special is very romantic. There is also an awesome pool and hot tub area at the digsite and our daughter met her new fiance there!!! Pretty romantic I'd say. The two of them have planned a May 14th, 2005 wedding and they will be staying @ CSR for their honeymoon!!!

Riverside is by far the most romantic. I would suggest a waterview. A little more expensive. But a view of a parking lot is not very romantic. Go for the mansions. Have fun

I would suggest CBR. You have a beautiful island to walk around with benches in hidden areas. You have the beaches and hammocks. You also can sit on the beach or in your hammock at Martinique and watch the Illuminations fireworks.

I would also recommend PO Riverside for couples. I love POFQ but the trees and landscaping at Riverside are more romantic IMHO. Be sure and look for some codes to save money (we're still paying off DH's law school loans, so we understand a budget)

CBR is great! Especially the two person hammocks on the beach at night. It feels like you are really in the Caribbean. DH and I had a corner room with a king bed and we loved it. There were times when we were the only people in the quiet pool.

POR Mansions. Hands down. One stay, and you'll fall in love w/ the place. plus taking the boat from DTD to the resort, after splitting a sundae at Ghiradelli's, having a few drinks in the River Roost lounge while listening to the whimisical muscial stylings of Bob Jackson (wed-sun), is one of the most fun (and cheapest) dates in WDW.

All of the moderate resorts are great, but the Caribbean Beach resort is THE most romantic with it's soft, white sandy beaches, hammocks for two, promenade around the lake, soft calypso music playing in the background, beautiful lush foliage and colorful flowers, and the softly colored buildings themselves. This resort is like being on a vacation-within-a-vacation. You feel like you're on a caribbean island, thousands of miles from civilization

I also vote for CBR, very romantic and tranquil. We stay in Jamaica and it's very quiet and perfect for romance!

I would save some money...stay at a value resort and enjoy some great meals together instead.

This is a question for Leighe.....

You had said you had a corner room at the CBR, can you tell me which building you were in and what your room number was?

My DH and I are staying there in October and hoping for a King corner room, but were also hoping for a waterview too.
