most popular summer month - a poll

Inspired by recent threads - I have been wondering - out of the summer months of JUNE JULY & AUGUST - which is the most popular month for DVCers. We went this past July and are going to go next June for 8 nights. Guess I'm curious to others vacationing habits.

This past August was our first time at WDW in the summer months. Previously as a family we had been there in Oct, Feb and several times in April. We couldn't go any other time because we had camping plans with relatives in June, a family wedding in CA in July - so August was the only viable month.

Honestly, I was worried about the heat and the crowds. I lived in Florida for a few years and hated the heat, but we did fine in August. It was very hot, and we were uncomfortable, but it never slowed us down. And the crowds were so much less than we had been used to in April that we're considering going in August this year again.

Of course later in the summer you could run into a hurricane, but we had better weather in Fl that last week in August than they did back home on the Cape and Islands where we would normally be. I would chance it again. The parks were so much more manageable and reservations were so much easier to get.

I voted June, but we haven't gone that time of year in quite some time. We used to go the first 2 weeks in June because our girls were young and in school and because I was a HS teacher. Now I am a training manager for a computer training facility and our girls are old enough that they don't always go with us. The last two years we have gone in May and really enjoy it. When we went in June the first week wasn't too bad. The crowds were pretty low. But by the second week things really pick up.

I chose June. Due to school and sport commitments we are unable to vacation during the school year so the second week in June works best for us. Once DS is in college in 2 years we will probably go in the fall for Food & Wine Festival too! Annmarie
