Most overrated ride and underrated ride?

Just wanting people's opinions on what people might consider to be an overrated ride, or attraction and the same for an underrated attraction, or ride, and why, of course.

What's yours???

Underrated: hmm either MIB or The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride (I think because it reminds me of People Mover which I love love love;the Trolley Train Ride is great for a few moments of sitting plus looking over the whole park from a different viewpoint and the theming is very cute).

Overrated: Simpsons: it wasn't a long wait when I went on it but it did make me wayyy too sick and I have found that for people that have motion sickness it's the one ride that tends to do it to them. I have only mild motion sickness and this is the only simulator ride at Universal that I just cannot ride again. Husband also found is eh..BTW back to the future didn't make me sick like Simpsons did. I think it's just too limiting as far as people go even ones without motion sickness have reported feeling sick afterwards.

Underrated: E.T. Although after reading hit the list so many times here I wonder how under rated it is.
Underrated Honorable Mention: Gringotts. Gringotts is a weird beast. Initially, especially it suffered from over hyping and people expecting it to be something it's not. That leads people to rate it below Forbidden Journey. In many ways, it is a worth equal to Forbidden Journey. But in a moderate thrill package. It takes several rides to realize just how much of that ride is NOT screens. The screens and sets blend that perfectly.

Overated. That's tough. Maybe Minion Mayhem. It's the ride where for me the wait just doesn't make sense most of the time. I don't normally have Express Passes. So, If I can't hit it first thing in the morning (or possibly late at night). I don't see waiting 90 minutes on a slow day for it. It's cute but not that cute.

Underrated ride: MIB Underrated attraction: The talking fountain. My kids love this and we always spend a chunk of time there.

Overrated ride: Despicable Me due to the line I've heard about. (It was a walk-on during our trip in Nov/Dec when we went on though - so perfect for that! Overrated as in why-are-people-willing-to-wait-an-hour-or-more type).

Underrated - Men in Black - loved the shooting and spinning aspect of it all. Kids could get involved and enjoyed it a lot.
Overrated - Simpsons (made me sick)

The Trolley Train ride might have gotten my underrated vote if it weren't for the horrible HOT line that goes up the stairs. Tight, sweaty people all stuffed together on stairs waiting in a slow moving line makes that ride not as appealing to our family.

People keep listing Simpsons as "overrated"; is it really overrated? I can't ever remember anyone raving about it and the line is usually pretty short in comparison to other attractions. It'd be like saying the Cleveland Browns are overrated.

Think that's why I'm struggling as I'm not sure the rides I like or dislike are actually overrated or underrated........most folks love or dislike rides.

We love Dr Doom.........lots don't and think it's either rubbish and too short.......... I don't like Poseidon but have never heard folk rave about it..........

I suppose if pushed I would say I think FJ is a bit overrated for me..........and Doom is underrated.

Underrated: Dudley Do-Right. I laugh my butt off on that one because I was growing up when those cartoons were being broadcast for the first time - a milestone in my youth! And the fact that it is impossible to not get soaked on it (Popeye honorable mention here).

Overrated: hmmm, I'll go with Twister, now that it's gone. There are no overrated attractions at Universal - all are fab! OK, maybe Hippogriff . . . I am usually still fussing with my seat belt when it ends.

overrated : Hulk (before it was torn down). You had 15 seconds of "yeeehaaaa !!!" at the start, then spent the rest of the ride like "are we there yet ?". Vote might change with the new version (doubtful, but keeping an open mind)

I don't know, when I saw photos of the new Hulk now that it's completed, it looks exactly like the old track. At least from what I recognize of the first part of the track before it goes to the other side. So, unless it changes once it runs to the other side of the building, it's the same track. Which if that's the case, what's the point?

What's yours???

As for me the most overrated is RRR. It gives me a headache and it doesn't even bang my head around. Also, how it makes me feel in general takes away from the experience. So, now that I recently rode it for the first time in awhile, I think I'm not going on it again unless I ever go with friends who need to go on it. I can kind of see the popularity of it all, as it's a massive tall coaster and one of the few at Universal, but it's subpar compared to the other coasters in my opinion. Also, it gives you two seconds to choose a song. I selected classic rock and when I didn't pick in time it did some dubsteb song. :crazy2: Can't even pick a song in my category?

As for underrated, I do not know, there are a lot of rides that might fall into that category, but one of my favorites is Men in Black. I love the film, love the ride concept, and found out recently apparently the design for it and the idea of the ride is first to pose as it being something from the World's Fair of 64'-65', which I've always been fascinated by due to that fair's history also with Disney, which I'm also a fan of.

Some of you probably knew that little bit of trivia, but I only rode it once in the normal queue years ago (which is typically how you get the storyline) and every time since then I've been practically always riding it in the single rider line (which you typically do not).

EDIT- YES, THE HIPPOGRIFF. I AGREE. THAT MIGHT BE WAY UP THERE WITH RRR AS AN OVERRATED RIDE. I mean, why would people want to wait 90 minutes for a ride that is literally a minute long? I seriously have looked up the time and it's a minute. But then again, when you have little children, you might not have a choice.

Yes RRR can be a real head jarrer, even without jarring your head!!! I do find the front row eliminates that and makes it a much better experience..........yes first time I went on I was seriously terrified as I don't like heights.......yep, anyway tried to pick a song and failed as my hand were shaking so much......ended up with Beastie Boys.......not a fan! After the 1st time it's easy........like the ride but not in the carriages further back.

Hippogriff is a let down. But yes, kiddies love it........wouldn't stand 90 minutes for anything though........

Glad to hear your choices too.........:)

Underrated: Dudley Dooright. We have a blast on that ride and I rarely see people mention it here.

Overrated: Probably Despicable Me. It's ok, but not worth the waits it usually has.

Overrated: Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem. It's cute, but it's the same ride system as the last two iterations, and besides being cute it isn't worth the wait times that ride racks up.

Underrated: E.T. In today's thrill seeking world, too many people tend to just walk by this attraction. It needs a nice refresh, sure. But it's the only "classic" attraction Universal still has, and I wish more guests appreciated it.

Have to agree with Minions as overrated. I think the pre-ride show is actually better than the ride.

Underrated: MIB - we rode that over and over again with the express pass, trying to better each other's high school each time. But my overall winner for underrated attraction (not ride though) is the Sinbad show. We enjoyed that every bit as much, if not more, than the Indiana Jones show at DHS. Of course, my kids love flatulence humor and fighting.

I sometimes feel I am the only person who prefers Gringotts to FJ. Love, love, love. I think it's everything I hoped for and more.

I agree with most everyone on here. I think the only ride I dislike is Simpsons. I genuinely enjoy most every ride and show. I saw ET is underrated because it never has a line and it should. I say Simpsons is over because it nearly always has a decent line and its puke worthy for me. I'm not using a scale of the hype or anything- just queue observations with my likeness of the attraction.

As far as the hulk goes @Disxuni and @chmurf .... was it because you didn't like the track or because you didn't like the intense/rough headache causing doom that it caused in it's later years before it's rebirth? If it's not for that then yeah... It's the same track as before and the themeing.. theming(sp? is it even an actual word?) in the queue is going to change a bit(more comic based I heard) but the track is essentially the same. They painted the launch tube black... OUUUUUUU. o_O

Overrated: Despicable Me. Bring back Jimmy Neutron. Much better ride.

Underrated: MIB. We loving riding it over and over to improve our score. The make-up horror show is also on my list. Very well done.

I was just stating that now that I've seen photos of the Hulk's new track, that it appears to be the same track even though they've been stating this whole time that they would be making a new track. So, as for the physical track itself, it's new, but as for design, it's the same layout at least that's what it seems like. The big difference will be the queue, like you said.

Yessss, I miss Jimmy Neutron! I only rode Despicable Me once during EE to see what the deal is and because it was a low wait time. I was disappointed. It gave nothing new, except for having to wait in two separate pre-show rooms. I mean, really? Also, is it just me, or does the theater seem smaller?

However, I have to admit, it's all about personal preference for characters really. I'm sure if I actually cared about Despicable Me it would be different, but I could careless about the franchise. Jimmy Neutron was something I grew up with, so obviously I would be biased.
