Other than food(where the obvious choices are dole whips, turkey legs, zebra domes,etc...), what are the most over-hyped things on this board.

For me, it has to be crocs and bagellini messenger bags. I don't need to have ever tried them to know that a good pair of broken in sneakers and any one of a dozen backbacks that I have in my basement won't do the trick.

Feel free to chime in and to those who love the things that are over-hyped, keep right on lovin'...to each their own.

PS At the risk of getting assaulted, I will add one more...TGM. <ducking>

I will agree with you about the messenger bags and TGM. I don't understand the need to spend 30-40 bucks on a bag when the 10 dollar backpack I bought 12 years ago still works wonders. ;) And the TGM also...I LOVE to do my own planning and research.

Now the crocs...:lmao: Come On! I wouldn't wear anything else. :lmao:

Towel animals are definitely overhyped as are Mickey Soaps and Wake up calls. They're nice, but people get way too excited about them.

Now Crocs are a god-send if you have bad feet. I wore an expensive pair of Nikes one day in the parks and my feet were sore. The next day I wore my Crocs and my feet felt great. One thing--be careful on the white painted lines and one the bricks when walking in Crocs. I did slip a couple of times.

Crocs = Godsend

Staying at values. I would rather stay offsite. Once you go deluxe you never go back. It helps having an AP discount and saving up. I think it's worth every penny.

I agree with the towel animals. They are cute, sure, but when people get upset that they DONT get towel animals, just seems odd to me. :confused3
Yes, crocs are comfortable, but I only wear them if I have jeans on - I think I look rediculous wearing shorts with socks and crocs. :lmao:

Deluxes. I just don't get it. Now, I can honestly say I've never stayed at one, they are gorgeous and beautiful and I'm sure that they have lovely amenities....but....my entire 10 day fall vacation costs less than what 4 days at some of the deluxes cost. I mean, I understand it would be a lovely way to travel but for me and my family, I'd rather have longer to be there!

Don't knock it until you try it. I've stayed at all and can honestly say the deluxes are worth every penny. Once again this is only my opinion.

Mission Space. I found it just ehh, didn't do much for me (besides the takeoff).

I don't want to hurt any feelings but I feel that the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is over rated. Everyone comes out looking the same as if it were an assembly line.

Thank you for this comment! I totally agree!

Oh and CRT...

Crocs. They should pay the Dis boards for the amount of hype they get on these boards. I made the mistake of trying to read the Disney Tips forum one day-- they might as well rename that to the Crocs Forum. :sad2:

for the record, i would never be caught dead in crocs. even in disney. even in a remote island where no one else lived.

Illuminations
staying onsite
lovebugs (not the awful scourge like they are made out to be)
taste of tap water in Orlando
CRT
Le Cellier
Soarin' (it's nice, and I like it, but it's not the be-all and end-all of attractions)

Character meet and greets/autographs. IMHO, I'd rather not wait in those lines...

I will respectfully disagree- and looking at your tag I don't think you have ever been during full on LOVE BUG season! It is gross if you are there the wrong weeks. And from what I heard about last year it seemed like one of the worst(and I saw the pictures!)
I have stayed both off and on and with small children on is the way to go(for the early morning hours alone!)
I don't get the bagalinis either but I have not tried one yet so I won't comment on it anymore.
Oh wait I thought of another one- Chef Mickey's!

I would have to agree with you. I've decided to wait a few years & take my daughter for her first real spa treatment at the GF.

BTW- I love my crocs! I know they're goofy looking, but they feel so good on my feet.

Oh, another thing I felt was overrated was Whispering Canyon. I was very disappointed in it.
