Good Morning,

From the poll it would seem that 50-75% of the time, the majority are at the parks.

We put 50% because we like to spend a little time around the park pool and drive out to see some of the real Florida.
Places we have visited include Annabel Island, Hommosassa Springs to visit our adopted Manatee to help protect the species, St Augustine, Saratoga, Bradenton, Boggy Creek etc.

Does anyone have any secret places worth visiting?

My husband golfs and I shop. We spend a lot of time at the resort. And we eat at a number of resort restaurants. I have family in the surrounding area I could visit. If I wanted to.

Love the town of St. Augustine. Also love going over to the west coast for a little R&R after the parks.

We love just hanging at the pool and resorts. We also love shopping at the local outlets or just visiting other resorts and seeing the different theming.

I answered 75% but because I do other things, not touring Fla. but .. Disney golf and fishing, lots of pool time..sometimes Sea World.

My visits to other parts of Fla. have never been a part of my Disney Fix vacations. I do them seperately and usually Oct-April.
Here's a few great places... Longboat Key, Siesta Key, Sanibel Island, Ft. Lauderdale. :thumbsup2

We were at the 50% end of that range for the parks. We like to boat - particularly taking a lunch out on the lake, relax by pool or in our resort, eat at another resort, play miniature golf, enjoy the theming of other places on property, and maybe a trip to Sea World where we are also AP holders.

Hang out at the resort, pool bar ;) , shop, nap, read. :goodvibes

I do not venture far from WDW, even during an extended trip (30+ days). :cloud9:

We dont go off property either. We spend probably 60% of our time at the parks. The rest of the time we mini-golf, go boating, take bike rides, we do a lot of swimming and we see a movie.

We spend less than 50% in the parks. While my dh enjoys a round of golf I enjoy a spa day. I love reading by the pool and going shopping. Spending a day at Discovery Cove is another place we enjoy. There is so much to do that I never seem to be bored or tired of spending time at WDW. :thumbsup2

75% in the parks, need the rest of the time to relax and sleep.

Then: 50% parks, 25% restaurants and 25% the pool.

Now: With the pool being cold it will be 50% parks, 25% restaurants and 12.5% hot tub, 6.25% carrying buckets of hot water from the hot tub to the pool, 3.125% pool and 3.125% complaining to the resort manager about the pool.;)

We're about 75% in the wdw parks. The other 25% can be spent either at the pools; Uni/Sea World; shopping local malls and outlets etc. Visiting family in Sebastian and Flagler Beach are big on our list too. We usually visit local beaches near family as well. My uncle in Sebastian likes to take us around to local sites there too. We visited a couple maritime museums in Sebastian 2 years ago.

We do spend a lot of time at the parks (sometimes just people watching), but we also like to visit all the other on-site resorts (especially for dinner ressies), shop, go to Church, and sometimes to the shore and Cape Canaveral.

We always say we're going to do more, get further out, but we haven't really managed it. Dh says it's because the kids are still young and they love the parks and pools so much. We hope to see a lot more of Central Florida in the years to come.

75% parks... otherwise, movies, shopping at DTD, relaxing, eating at resorts... this trip we intend to hit Comedy Warehouse and Adventurer's Club.

We probably spend about 75% of our time in the parks, but I could see that decreasing significantly in a few years as our schedules and wish list changes.

When we stay on the property we generally dont leave WDW.But when we rent a vacation home we like seaworld and we'll go into Kissemmee and go to the dinner show at Medievil Times. We drive down at least twice a year but are main focus is always WDW. :cool1:
