Best ever DVC-related memory:
We bought into the DVC on our 12/97 stay. My parents were with us and, while I had no problem telling my mother of our purchase, I was very hesitant to tell my investment-conscious father. When I finally did he just said "Well, it's not how I would have spent my money. He didn't say it in a snotty way...more of an I-just-don't-get-it way. Anyway, cut to 10/98 and our family's stay at the BWV. We had a 2BR on the 5th Floor, right over Big River Grill. The view was amazing to say the least. One day my Dad and I were walking down the Boardwalk, just the two of us, and he said to me "This DVC thing...you made the right decision." It certainly is a memory I cherish.
Best ever non-DVC-related memory:
On our most recent trip to WDW we spent one evening at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. I had made us all matching, red, holiday-Mickey sweatshirts. At our Liberty Tree Tavern dinner before the party we were all in quite the festive mood. They seated us at a large round table in the middle of one of the rooms and we were constantly referred to as "the centerpiece" (I guess we really did look like one). At one point we even had one of the chefs come out to see us because he heard there was a party going on somewhere. We greeted him with our own rendition of "Steven the Liberty Tree Chef" sung to the Rudolph tune. There was not one "down" moment at that meal...everyone simply had a fabulous time. It was a blast! And the party afterward was equally terrific.
So, those are my memories, but I tend to get new ones on each trip. I'm sure after our next trip I'll have a new favorite.
