I know the answers will vary, but thought it would be fun to ask! We have been DVC Members for almost 2 years now and have tried 3 DVC resorts so far. I am curious to get feedback from experienced members: what do you consider to be the most laid-back DVC resort? Conversely, what do you consider to be the most "energetic"? Why? All input appreciated!

My family and I aren't DVC members but we've stayed at BCV and SSR, and we thought SSR was so laid-back. It was very quiet (and we were in the Springs!). The pool was never super crowded. BCV, on the other hand, there were always a million people there. Don't get me wrong, we loved BCV, but we love SSR more. Plus, at BCV you share everything with the regular Y&BC people. It was nice that SSR seemed "reserved."

Hilton Head is the most relaxing. The beach house, the pier on the marsh, shady tree lined sidewalks. Totally peaceful.

If you mean at WDW, I would choose AKV. I can watch the savanna, wander through the grounds, and enjoy the bars. I also like all the restaurants, especially Sanaa.

BWV is definitely the most energetic. I always feels like I am in the middle of a circus there.

Relaxing, without a doubt OKW and SSR. Laid back, quiet, no loud hallways, lots of water and walkways, beautiful landscaping.

But yes I would agree about HHI, if you mean all DVC resorts.

I find OKW to be the most laid back (never been to HH). Whenever we are looking for a relaxing trip, I'll book there.

I've most often taken the time to stop and enjoy the resort at VWL. I love the little areas on the first floor of the villa with seating by the fireplace, the outside porch with rocking chairs, and in the lodge itself with the many places to sit and read and watch the lake.

I've sat outside of the lodge and watched a bald eagle fly over the lake and just remembering that experience brings peace! A very special time for me is in the early morning, when I go to the hot tub by the villa pool. It's often empty of other people then, and I soak up the atmosphere of the tall pines, and tranquility.

I find OKW to be my most relaxing resort with SSR and AKV tied for second place. Love those big balconies at OKW for just relaxing and reading during down time. Somehow the other resorts balconies just don't have the same feeling.

The most relaxing resort for us is AKV. I love sitting on my balcony with a cup of coffee/glass of wine and watching the animals. I also find the lobbies and the music to be very relaxing.

I think the most energenic resort is BWV. There is always something going on at the resort.

Laid back for me is a state of mind, the resort doesn't really have anything to do with it. When I'm traveling with DS and friends or a family reunion, our party is energetic, we frequent the main pools, the theme parks, the water parks. The vacation itself creates the vibe, no matter what resort we're staying at, AKV, SSR, OKW or the BWV.

If I want a laid back vacation, there's no theme parks, more quiet pool time, movie night at AMC, no matter the resort, it's laid back!

OKW is my favorite resort, not because it's considered laid back. I like its tropical theming, lush landscape and I prefer to park in front of my villa and not be in a hotel setting. I've had laid back vacations at OKW but I've had many more fun and boisterous ones there, the resort lends itself to how I'm vacationing at the time!

BWV is definitely the most energetic. I always feels like I am in the middle of a circus there.

Totally agree. DH loves relaxing, and when he walked into BWV, he said "Don't EVER make me stay here!" Now I'll hide under the table while all the BWV lovers flame me. The most relaxing at WDW, for us, is definitely OKW. Overall, I'll agree with HHI.
