Most kid friendly dinner in Epcot

Guys-

What's the most kid friendly dinner in Epcot or around that area. We are staying at the Boardwalk and I will have my 4 nieces and nephews with me (6, 4, 4, 1). Thanks!

DD4 and I ate at Garden Grill in Epcot and loved it. The food was great and the character interaction was some of the best we've had at a character meal. We had Mickey, Chip, Dale and Pluto. The restaurant will be closed for rehab for a few months in 2005, but I'm not sure when that starts.

Garden Grill is our fav restaurant in all of WDW but I believe it is closed during the time the OP will be there. It is close for sure when we are there in early February.

Try the Coral Reef...the kids will love looking at the all the different types of fish.

Our kids like most of Epcots restaurants, but if you are after something specifically kid-friendly, then how about Cape May Cafe which is at the Yacht and Beach club, that's a character dinner with Minnie (not sure if Mickey is there, I think not)

Actually cape may only has characters in the morning for the breakfast buffet.

To the OP - my girls love most of the Epcot restaurants but they can be pricy and sometimes dinner can take a while. Given the ages of the kids I was wondering if your looking for counter serve or traditional "sit down" type food?

My girls love Mexican food so both the counter serve and full serve restaurants in the Mexico pavillion are a favorite with them. If you want the sit down restaurant San Angel, you will want to make a ps as this is one of the more crowded restaurants.

I think it is Biergarten for us! We have 4 kids and even though it is a buffet and the room is quite large the kids stay entertained by the band. They can go down and dance on the stage and run off some energy. We just sit close to it so we can watch them---and it IS allowed. Of course under supervision. And the band asks the kids to come and participate. We are heading back there our next trip in January.

On the last day of our July trip, my 4 year old son finally finished an entree. All week we had been trying to get him to eat counter service, character meals, etc. He didn't like the food and/or was too distracted. Finally we picked up a hot dog for him at the stand on the Boardwalk. Then we went over to the Morrocan Counter Service place for our own food. I wish I had tried that hot dog stand earlier in our trip! There's also a pizza window at Spoodles.

I second Biergarten (Germany)!! DH and I went there in May (it was just the two of us) and immediately decided that this would be a GREAT experience for our four girls!! This will be our EPCOT dinner in May 2005!! They LOVED Tapanyaki Grill in Japan last December, very entertaining and they still talk about how fun it was! They were 14, 12, 8 and 7 at the time.

Another thumbs up for Biergarten. We've been going since our kids were same age as yours and (they now are teens) have always found fun things to do. The food is a buffet and good; they can "wander" around if they want and not get in people's way; there is interactive entertainment....all in all a good spot.

Loved the Garden Grill - awesome food and the character interaction (if you're looking for a character meal) was unbelieveable!!

Psssstt..Lunch is quite a bit cheaper and every bit as good as the dinner..

Believe it or not, I thought the Restaurant Akershus in Norway was a great choice for my two DD's ages 5 & 7. My kids are picky eaters so having both grilled cheese and PB&J on the menu was a plus. Also, they serve the kids meals with goldfish crackers

Of course to eat there the adults have to want to try something a little different also

I agree on Biergarten. when DD was 2 1/2, she ate more there than anywhere else on our trip. It is a must do for 15 DS, who names it as one of his favorite restaurants anywhere.

Garden Grill or Biergarten. Both have lots of stuff kids will eat, Garden Grill has more normal food and the characters.

Biergarten! Great atmosphere and usually some type of musical entertainment going on. Lots of fun and great food.

There is a character dinner meal in either the Swan or Dolphin that the kids might like.I think that the Land is going to be closed when you go so no character lunch/dinner at Epcot.

My kids really enjoyed all of the above. But even more than Germany mine liked Morroco (2 girls 4 & 6). One dd is a pasta head (that's all she eats). But I got her to try the Morroco Couscous that I called Alladin pasta and she liked it.
They both went up to dance with the belly dancer which was a lot of fun.
And then before dinner they had pictures with Alladin and Jasmine at the store right outside the restaurant. If you get there before 7:00 the kids get to do the mask as a craft. We've wound up doing this pretty often with cousins and friends and they all seem to enjoy. Even the husbands had something they enjoyed (bellydancer)

Our lttle delegation has enjoyed all the Epcot/ World Showcase restaurants. At the Teppanaki Grill Room, the chef made a volcano out of an onion, which they are still talking about. The waiters at Chefs de France made the kids feel like princes. But their favorite setting has to be the Cantina in Mexico. With the star-lit night sky, volcano and river ride, they are enthralled for a long time.

Kid friendly as far as visual/entertainment factor I would say Gullivers at the swan, its only 2 characters but a good choice, coral reef for the fish, and biergarten if they can tolerate the music/noise.

Kid friendly as far as food for sit down - Akershus, I think its goldfish and grapes served with the meal. For kid friendly couter service either electric umbrella or american adventure if you want something fast and in and out etc.

O'Hana's hands down. The kids can play Hockey with a coconut in the middle of the meal. The kids are kept busy and active so you can enjoy the great meal also. My kids love it. Its always a special treat for us.
