My son won the Grand Marshal World Tour and Disney paid for our food, including priority seting resaurants. So one of the places we chose in Florida was the Prime Time Cafe at Disney Hollywood (used to be MGM ) studios. FUN!!! Good comfort food such as fried chicken, meatloaf, pot roast, etc but the staff were very attentive and very entertaining. We heard them yell because someone didn't clean their plate so my son (18 yrs of age) made sure he ate ALL his food. OH BUT they notice that too... clanking the plate announcing how much he loved momma's cooking. However, my husband left 1 bite of mash potato and she did the airplane for him to finish....too funny!!!:rotfl:

When we ate there in 2006, a waitress made a lady stand in a corner. If I can remember correctly, she had her elbows on the table. It was funny. My girls got a kick out of it. :rotfl:

that is so neat that your son won the Grand Marshall prize. You should do a trip report! Congrats!

Were you wanting to know what a trip report is?

That's where some people have posted their experiences on their vacation. I think it would be neat to hear about his good luck winning that prize. I know I would love to hear what it was like. There is a whole section on here with trip reports :goodvibes

Prime time is my favourite restaurant. When we went, some guy tried to hide his veggies under his chicken bone or something and the waitress made him stand up and appologize to the whole restaurant. And 2 guys were arguing at the same table and their waiter made them both stand in corners. It was hilarious!

Ummmmm.....this may seem a tad silly but we're not from the US and my daughters (both 11 years old) haven't grown up with most of the '50s-'60s era TV shows that I assume are the backdrop for the Prime time Cafe.

I know the cafe's appeal is somewhat broader and more universal than strictly '50s era sitcoms but what shows should I show them so that they can really understand and appreciate the atmosphere of the cafe?

Thanks,

CP

The best shows imho would be Leave it to Beaver, The Andy Griffith Show, and I Love Lucy.

It's the 50's and early 60's at their best.

I cant wait, only 37 more days till 50's PrimeTime for us. :cool1:

They only showed clips of old tv shows at the tv's that were at the restaurant. The shows they showed were "My Little Margie" "Life with Joan" "Father Knows Best" "The Donna Reed Show". Have her look at the kitchens.

When were you there in 2006? My SIL had to stand in the corner for having her elbows on the table. My kids almost fell off the chair. :rotfl2:
