Most fun/adventurous/scenic way to get from Disney Springs to Polynesian Resort?

Our first day in Orlando (Monday next week) we are not going to be visiting a park due to our middle-of-the-night arrival the night before.

So I would like to do a little exploring of the resorts that day with the primary aim of hitting the Polynesian Village to try to get a spot at Trader Sam's. I'm thinking of aiming for an early/mid-afternoon arrival at the Poly to get on the waitlist (though I'm tempted to move the time back a couple of hours to be able to try the famous Tonga Toast, but I digress).

We'll be starting and ending at Disney Springs (planning on trying to hit Jock Lindsey's at the end of the day).

I know we could always just take a shuttle bus from DS to Poly but that seems so boring when there are so many more interesting ways to get around that also might allow us to see more of the resort areas. Monorail, Skyliner, ferries, whatever - I'm not concerned about time but am interested in maximum fun and sightseeing.

Any suggestions?

You could park at DS, take bus to CBR, ride Skyliner to DHS, take Friendship Boat to any Epcot resort, take bus from there to MK, then boat from MK to Poly. If you’re staying onsite, you could park free at DHS and skip the bus to CBR. Skyliner DHS to CBR then to Epcot IG, bus from BC to MK. You’d miss the Friendship Boat, but….

Thanks for the ideas!

We’re staying at a Disney Springs hotel so we’ll be walking to Disney Springs for our starting point.

I presume that it is possible to just jump on any Disney bus from any one park/resort to any other park/resort once we're on property? They don't limit them to resort guests?

Correct.

You could fit in all current forms of Disney transport by taking the ferry from DS to either PO resort. Then bus to DHS. Skyliner to Epcot International Gateway. Walk to either Beach or Yacht Club. Bus to MK. Monorail from MK to Poly. Have fun what every you decide!
