Most favorite wdw souvenier you ever bought?

We've bought tons of souveniers since 1975, but my favorite is one I didn't buy (tho when you think about it, I guess I sort of did buy it).

Was a souvenier glass from the old Papettee Bay Verandah restaurant at the Poly. My very first meal at WDW and the Seven Seas Cocktail I had ordered came in a souvenier glass. I still have it and it always brings back memories of early WDW (and that excellent restaurant).

Whenever we go, we stop in the Xmas shop in DTD and buy the ceramic-type ornament for whichever resort we are staying at that trip. If we happen to stay at a resort we've stayed at before and we already have the ornament, we'll buy one for a resort we've stayed at in the past.

When decorating our Xmas tree, it makes us think of all the good times at WDW!

I bought the styrofoam-like rock and the rings at the Magic shop on Main st. when I was a kid. The store is long gone now... just like the penny arcade next door to it.

In fact, does anyone know if they sell the magic items anywhere else now?

DW and I bought a stick of Lucky Bamboo from the Japan pavilion on our honeymoon last year. It is still growing in a bud vase on our kitchen table. It is a nice reminder of our wedding. We also got a Leave a Legacy tile on our honeymoon. I think it will be fun in the future to take our kids or even grandkids to visit our tile and they can see us as we were when we got married. :earsgirl: :earsboy:

A couple of my favorites are our Leave a Legacy tiles because we can go back and check them out.

Also got one of those crystal things from the Journey into the Imagination area. Ours is like a rectangle, not a cube and our faces are not 3D but just etched in there. All 4 of us are one one and it has Mickey and 2003 at the bottom. It also has our names etched in there too. Cost us around 85$. I think that has been our most expensive souvineer and worth every cent because it captured us in a moment in time and we can always go back and see how we looked and how the kids have grown.

My 50th birthday was celebrated at WDW with a mother and son trip (no aunts, uncles, grandmothers, best friends, just us). We spent two weeks tent camping at Ft. Wilderness (in August). I treasure that trip and wouldn't trade it for a month in the Presidential Suite (where ever that is). I think my son finally realized you don't necessarily have to grow up as you grow older. I can carry the memory of that trip with me and it is probably the greatest souvenir I've ever gotten from WDW.

Went in 1999, so 5 years later it's still my favorite souvenir!!!

2 SILHOUETTES from the Main Street SHOP!!! of me and my husband.
I will get one of my dog this year and will put them all on the wall!!

:hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

My favorite thing I ever got from WDW would be the original Thumper stuffed animal they had from the 80's...the one with the hard plastic eyes. My dad got it for me, and it's been a treasured toy since he passed away.

The menu from the last day that Bonfamille's Cafe was open. :(

i went to disneyland in california in 1991 and bought a very pretty dark pink and light pink hearts minnie mouse watch and a few months later it started peeling!::yes::

okay... I am really bad at picking ONE of anything, so here we go...

* (not sure if this counts) my "Walk Around the World" brick, which was given to me by my parents on my grade school graduation.

* my (way too big  ) monorail set (complete with TTC, CR, SSE, Poly, GF, and signage)

* my magnet collection. growing since 1998.

* souvenier photos from TT and SpMtn with my cousin. We plan our "poses" weeks in advance!

A photo taken in front of "The Tree of Life" and another taken in front of the castle at MK. :earsgirl: :earsboy:

I almost forgot!!!!

Don't know how to say this properly.... but let's just say we went in April of last year for Easter. My DS was born 9 month's later in January of this year! It's not purchased, but I would consider that our greatest souvenir.

I have always wanted to get a silhouette of my children from WDW! I finally got my wish, well, at least for DD #1. We just got back from DD2's first trip. I opted to do just her, then we can get each "addition" done later on his/her first trip. DH and I will get ours done together. It was a task getting her to sit still, but the CM was great and captured her perfectly! Pig-tails and pug nose and all! It only took a few minutes.
Oh, I love the ornaments from Ye Old Christmas Shoppe. I always go in there! You can get them personalized for a little extra.

This is a tough question, b/c I have gone some many times & bought so much stuff!

I was talking about this earlier today: I took my first trip when I was 6 in Feb. 1974. My grandparents had just moved to Tampa & mom & I went to visit. The 4 of us went to WDW (then just the MK) for the day. I have several photos from that day. About 2 years ago, I was in the americana shop in Liberty Sq (next to the Hall), and bought a picture frame that says "Walt Disney World an American tradition since 1971." I have an enlarged photo of me, at age 6, sitting in a bucket on the Skyway, with the castle in the background. A cherished memory.

Yes, I have many of the sterling charms, haunted mansion items, and collectables. I bought an uncut sheet of annual passes at DL back in 1998, when they redid tomorrowland. It comes with 3 bronze colored pins, and is autographed by 3 people who worked on Tomorrowland. It's 1 of 150, I think.

This is a great thread! Keep it up!

My favorite souvenier from WDW was my Happy Birthday hat. I got it back in just January toward the end. Sure it wasn't really my birthday yet but only 2-3 months off.

Didn't finish yet

I will never forget the day when I brought it home. It was so big that it would not fit in my backapack. So I had to wear it on my head at the airport. People were saying to me "Happy Birthday" Every so often.
That was really was one of my most memorable souveniers.
:bday: :bday: :cake: :cake: :bday: :cake:

How much are the silhouettes? Can I do two children together or have to do them separate? How long does it take? This is by HM, correct?

Thanks!

Ive only been to WDW twice but on each trip I bought a Christmas ornament. I love pulling the ornaments out when decorating our tree and asking the kids...do you remember?...:cloud9:

I bought myself a Cinderella Snow Globe on Main Street: complete with castle, Prince, Fairy Godmother, and mice. I love it because it reminds me of the magic.

Also, (see below) bought me a glass slipper on Main Street and had it shipped home. He presented it to me for Christmas! It's blown glass and very pretty.

I think you have to buy what makes the magic for YOU. DS(8)loves his "Tree of Life" he bought at Animal Kingdom. DS7 loves his rifle purchased outside of Indiana Jones. DD11 enjoys her smashed penny collection and her Minnie Ears.

(DH loved the cruise! and DS10 loves his Spiderman stuff from IOA).
