Most Favorite and Least Favorite Character Breakfasts

What did you think of the food at Ohana's Character Breakfast? Was there enough variety worthy of a buffet price? I've looked at the menu and it looks O.K. Have seen some posters mention there was waffles and sweet bread? Have you had either of these? We love Stitch too and look forward to this breakfast. Food-wise, I have to convince my DH.

We are trying Ohana's for dinner for the first time this trip! Maybe next trip we will have to try Ohana's for breakfast...I love sweet bread!

Great idea- take a bus to AK and then from there get on the Beach Club bus.....Ak is usually open pretty early. I'd check the times for that park before you book. Would be great if they had EMH in the morning, then the busses would run really early. Then from Beach Club you can walk to EPCOT or take a bus to another park.

I would recomend taking a bus to the studios and either walking or taking the boat to Beach club, its much easier than traveling throup epcot. the walk is also shorter, there is a pathway.

We always do breakfast at Chef Mickey's. Food has always been good and I like the atmosphere of eating in the resort.

The other one we really liked was Cape May. Food was good and when we went (a Sept. trip) there was barely anyone else in the restuarant so we really had the characters all to ourselves.

The only one I didn't like was Ohana. Only b/c we like the buffet style and I didn't like having the wait for our server to fill the bowls back up. I will say that their character interaction was a lot of fun of the kids w/the parade through the restuarant.

We have 3 boys so we always pick a breakfast based on the characters & the resort (I like to try the different resorts).

Was that the one with Pocahontas?

Yes, any time you can find different character is always a joy. I'm a huge Pocahontas fan. Another one we liked was the Soundstage Studios at DHS. It featured Aladdin, Rafiki, Meeko, and The Genie, there might have been another character but can't remember.

I also remember the Villian dinner, didn't last too long. Most kids were afraid of the Villians.

We have been to almost all of the character breakfasts other than Cape May. I will have to try that out next time.

Favorite- Crystal Palace (great food, good interaction)
Least Favorite- Hollywood and Vine (blah food, kids don't love these characters), CRT (overpriced and i have boys), Chef Mickeys (too loud, crowded, etc, not great interaction)

Favorite - Crystal Palace, hands down. Great food & service here. This is a must for me on my last day of the vacation on every trip.

Least Favorite - I'd have to say the Princess Breakfast in Norway. The characters were nice (slow coming out), but the food was just ok. Right behind it would be Chef Mickey's.

We thought Cape May was good but to me there are about the same food wise. It was neat to see the char. in old fashioned bathing suits. the only other one we have done is Chef Mickeys and we have always had a good time with characters and service. I dont have a least fav. We are trying to decide which one to do on our next trip. DD wants to do supper at CRT I thought Bfast. Crystal Palace sounds like the one. We thought about Donald at TH, friends enjoyed it. I am only referring to bfast meals here. Which has better bfast OHana or CP.

It's been a couple of years since we did the breakfast at Ohana's but I really enjoyed the food. The sweet bread was really yummy. From what I remember there were the Waffles, Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, Bacon and a fruit platter in addition to the bread. They also serve juice, coffee, tea, milk, etc. with your meal. They bring everything to your table & they will bring more of whatever you ask for. You can really stuff yourself if you choose to. Sometimes the service seems a little slow but the characters keep coming around to the tables in between the Parade that they do. The characters are great although the last time our Stitch left a little to be desired. But Pluto more than made up for it. I travel with an original stuffed Stitch from the Disney store so of course he goes to the breakfast with me. He's been carried around in the kids parade by Lilo and played with by all of the characters. On the visit where Stitch wasn't as interactive as normal Pluto stole the show. He picked up my Stitch & was playing with him. He then proceeded to take him over to the food prep area in the center of the restaurant and placed him on a platter. He pretended to season & spice him, sprayed some cooking oil (not really on Stitch) and then shoved Stitch in the oven. The entire restaurant was hysterical. My friends were eating it up because they put up with my habit of dragging my Stitch everywhere we go at the resort. After a few minutes Pluto brought the well done Stitch back to our table. A while later Pluto did a similar routine with a smaller Stitch that a child had brought with them. They were presented with theirs on a platter when Pluto was done roasting it. It may have been an off day for the Stitch character but it was by no means a disappointing meal due to the interaction with the other characters, Pluto especially.

We never miss CRT for the experience and CP for the food.

Totally agree with PP! Pluto is great @ O'hanas. It was hard for us to take pics the characters were rushing through.

We have done CRT, our 4 year old daughter loved it, I thought it was a decent meal. It is a wonderful atmosphere. But I do wish they would incorporate Cinderella into the act, not just pose for the pics.

I think Norway Princess Breakfast was wonderful because of the interaction with the princesses.. My BIL did not enjoy the meal. He is not a fan of buffetts.

We always do at least one character breakfast, either Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Fare or Crystal Palace. Tried CRT once it was ok but the food was cold and not the best tasting. Have always wanted to try Cape May.

Sounds like you've made up your mind to do the Cape May breakfast. We loved dinner there & I'm excited about trying their breakfast for the first time in November. Our other breakfast fave/least fave experiences are:
Least Fave- 1900 Park Fare: The characted interaction & food at 1900 were wonderful. However, the restaurant was very overcrowded & the seating was so cramped that our table was literally wedged in an itty-bitty spot not suitable for a table. We couldn't even get up for seconds when we wanted to b/c the tables behind us & beside us were blocking our walking path. I had to politely ask the parties sitting to us to move so that we could get out of our seats; which they weren't wild about. On a positive note, Alice, Madd Hatter, & Mary Poppins were all very delightful!
Fave- Chef Mickey: We loved our breakfast here! The service, food, and characters were awesome!

What the above poster disliked about Ohana's is exactly what I did like about it. I loved the family-style breakfast, so that I didn't have to keep getting up to help the children at a buffet. And when the refills came to our table, they were nice and warm and tasted fresh.

I totally agree with this! Going this past February with our then 12 month old daughter just reinforced how much we like the family style meals. Next year when we go we will be going with another 1 year old, a 2 1/2 year old and our 16 year old. Sitting down and letting the food come to us sounds perfect.

Since you have both older and younger children in your party I would definitely suggest 'Ohana. I have two girls 7 years a part and they loved the breakfast there. My older one loves Stitch and they have Mickey and Pluto there for the younger one although she loved Stitch as well. We have always had great service and like the previous posters said having the food brought to you was great no worrying that you would miss any characters while waiting for your food. Stitch is a hoot always up to tricks! Watch your coffee!

We are fond of the food at 1900 Park Fare, and the characters and atmosphere at Chef Mickey's. Tusker House is a good early breakfast if you want to be on the safari at park open.
