(and I am sneaking a peak at work and I have to confess that my new computer screen is just spectacular makin your pictures look even more awesome!)
Naturally, shopping was a major attraction to the ladies in my family so somehow we immediately drifted into the bazaar.

And walked over and picked it up. My kids got all giddy and started jumping around.![]()
Me: Hey, are you paying for this call?
Guy: No, you called me!
Me: Oh no, this is going to be expensive.
And at that point I was just going to hang up and keep it our joke, but Marlene wanted to have a big reveal moment, so she begged me for the phone.
Me: Hold on. Someone here wants to talk to you.
<I hand the phone to Marlene>
Marlene: Um, look over by the fountain.
Guy: HA!!!
<hangs up>
Oh, well played! Well played, sir!
Everyone loves a fez. Careful James, youll get fez head.
I stopped to take a picture of this Moroccan alleyway. When I started to take the picture, it was empty, like you see it. But of course, people started wandering through. It took a minute or two of waiting before I could get a picture of it empty and serene like this.

The one night I called it an early night and I miss an update. That will teach me.I see the one Judy and the Mickey pointing to her.

The phone call worked out real well this time. That made all the attempts and effort worth it.
Trying this from my phone so I am curious how it will post. Hey it looks pretty good emoticons and all.
I have been following along in lurk mode, so you didn't lose this reader!
A couple weeks ago I had my first successful Epcot pay phone conversation. The gent was having a great day and traveling with a group. At the end of the chat he asked where I was and asked if he could visit.I sort of froze and then said I was in Maryland, and he was "welcome any time!"
I am not sure how my husband would feel about that! But no one has turned up at our door, so I think I am in the clear.
Keep those updates coming!
Perfect!!!!!! What a perfect person to pick up the phone and his reaction is priceless! That seriously made my morning. Love It!
(and I am sneaking a peak at work and I have to confess that my new computer screen is just spectacular makin your pictures look even more awesome!)
Thanks for the laugh! I really enjoyed your phone conversation update. It great that you got someone who would play along.
I can't believe you didn't get James to pose in front of the fountain. He hasn't questioned you yet on the crazy things you asked him to do so far.
I love the atmosphere in this picture. I wish I'd been able to take more time to explore the WS on my last trip to see spots like this...we were trying to finish spy missions! I guess I'll just have to go back.
At last!![]()
That is hilarious! I'm glad you finally found someone to play along. Nice job documenting it, too!![]()
If we stopped to think about how many heads have tried these on, we probably wouldn't do it ourselves. But like you said, you can't resist the fez.
Another awesome shot.
Glenn, do you do any post-processing to your photos before you post them here? I just started doing it on mine where they looked a little washed out from the Florida sun, and I'm kicking myself for not having tried it before writing my TR.![]()
OMG (an expression I always thought I'd never use, but hey, sometimes it just fits), that phone call was awesome! Glad you finally caught someone willing to have a little out-of-the-blue Disney fun.
I love Marlene's poses! What a cutie-pie (wait, sorry, are tweens too old to be called cutie-pies?)
That's great you got a successful pay phone call in!Sounds like they were pretty good sports about it too, and you even got to have a "smile, you're on candid..or glennbo's..camera!" moment!
I totally agree with that guy's logic too, when you're in Disney, you do have to pick up ringing phones and peek in every little corner, never know what you might miss! (or who's trip report you may end up on!)
DBF had bought one of the fez'es (I have no idea how to pluralize fez)
for his brother in law while we were there. It was pretty funny, the guy wrapped it in probably around 30 feet of that paper wrapping stuff. I'm not even exaggerating, we had to unwrap most of it to get it to fit into our luggage so we could take it home, and it just kept going and going and going. All that to protect a hat!![]()
Yeah for finally getting someone to answer the phone!! Thanks to you I now have all three numbers programmed on my cell and look forward to using them this fall.
Hahaha! My sentiments exactly, and I was only reading your trip report... I must be crazy but I guess that's normal around hereAnd walked over and picked it up. My kids got all giddy and started jumping around.
My kids were laughing and excitedly moving around, but trying not to be too obvious.

They walked over and talked to us for a minute. The guy said, I walked by, and the phone started ringing. And all I could think was, When youre at Disney, and you walk by a phone and it rings how can you not pick it up?![]()
This post is especially for Poolrat and Flossbolna.![]()
It does! I've only successfully posted from my phone once or twice. The one time I tried to include an emoticon by clicking on the smiley (as opposed to just typing something like semicolon-right parenthesis) I lost the whole post, so I won't do that again. At least until I get a better phone.
Update on the World Showcase print
I have good news, bad news, and good news...
Good news: The World Showcase print arrived in the mail today!
Bad news: They cut off a few countries. They treated the 11" in height as the main requirement, and had to cut off some of the picture to keep it at the length I ordered. I expected them to print the whole thing to length, and give me white space at the top and bottom.
Good news: They're going to re-print it, no charge.
When I received it and saw that it was the full 11" in height, I knew they had to have cut off some of the picture. (Norway, France, and the U.K. were sacrificed.) I called the phone number in the shipping documents and told them that I wasn't happy with it and what the problem was. They were nice about it, but the first thing the guy said was, "Well, if that's what you expected (to have white space at the top and bottom) you should have stated that in the 'Comments' box when you ordered." I said, "Maybe so, but if you were going to cut off data in my picture, I would have expected a phone call or an e-mail that there was an issue with my order." He agreed, and wondered out loud why the technician didn't call.
Anyway, he liked the picture, wondered how many photos it was made of, and commented that you can't tell where it's stitched together.
A re-do will be on its way shortly.![]()
When we finished up our slushies, moussies, and carrot sticks in France
it was about a quarter to 1 o'clock, and time to move on to Morocco.
Marlene found this settee (I believe thats what youd call it)
Then we wandered further back, past Restaurant Marrakesh, near the fountain where Marlene and I had a Photopass picture taken the day before....
I looked up the number for the pay phone across the courtyard in my cell phone and let Lauren call it.
And walked over and picked it up. My kids got all giddy and started jumping around.![]()
Now the wife is full-out taking pictures of this magical moment.
Me: Oh no, this is going to be expensive.
Oh, well played! Well played, sir!
The guy said, I walked by, and the phone started ringing. And all I could think was, When youre at Disney, and you walk by a phone and it rings how can you not pick it up?![]()
We walked back into the bazaar area and James found a spot to sit down in front of this mural of a Moroccan town.
![]()
I dream of Marleney.![]()
Careful James, youll get fez head.
![]()
No, I didnt ask James to strike a pose like mine from the day before. Who knows what would have happened?!![]()
The last thing we did in Morocco was to check-out the little museum called Moroccan Style -- the art of personal adornment. I remember seeing some elaborate clothing and jewelry, some examples of henna tattoos, and a horse dressed in its finest Sunday-go-to-meetin clothes. Its a nice little stop thats well worth the few minutes it takes to look through it.
Great update!!! So happy you finally had that conversation you wanted! It's great that he was such a good sport.
I really like Morroco. It's mostly empty most of the time so it's a very nice place to just chill.

Wonderful pictures glennbo123, and all of your kids are so cute!
Did not know I could do quotes from my phone until I tried it on my TR earlier.
To the initiator of updates at the top of the page.
At first I typed it in but then i realized i could swish? over and actually hit the icon and it would insert.
It is a new phone and I am loving it, one my better decisions. Kept me occupied this AM while I was having my car worked on.![]()
Fabulous update Glenn! So much going on in Morocco!I really love the look of this pavillion. It reminds of Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark when Marian is yelling "Innnnddddyyyy!!"
I absolutely love your phone encounter! Finally, you got a taker! The best part was seeing the guy laughing afterward when he saw you all!Oooh, you look like such a fun family, even if you're slightly moist at times.

Marlene is too cute, I love her dramatic flair.
Is she by any chance part Genie?![]()
James is adorable and I love this background! It's very Aladdin-ish.
Bummer about your stitched picture though. At least they're going to rectify their mistake and good for you for calling them out on it. Who expects a picture to be printed out with parts missing anyway.Looking forward to the pic of your finished pic when it arrives.

Sweet! You'll have to let us know how it turns out.
nice phone conversation glenn,
i have the three UK ones on my desk and want to just give em a call one day, maybe i will when no one is in the office, dont want them to think i am weird or something.
i bet it would be funny to call all three at the same time.
Phew, for a moment I thought you were going to say "stickies".
That's some great planning- right down to the minute!![]()
Ottoman, settee, seat, whatever works.
and prayed she wouldn't spill the beans to Judy.![]()
The moments they'll remember most...
Did you get her DISer screen name?
What about HIS DISer screen name?
Well, the hair's brown anyway.
Is that kinda like the cooties?
He'd have dropped a coin in??![]()
It IS a really fun little museum. You know I checked it out too, (on my own, since they don't have the tour anymore) and was super impressed. One of the pictures I am missing (or never got) was a lizard (live) in one of the window displays. It was worth a chuckle at the time. Although would have been moved quickly into the hilarious category if it was like up on the woman's head wearing the veil. I like it MUCH more than the Stave Church of the Tin Toy museum, as there's much more to see in this one.
YEAH!!! a Glenn update!! (even if I was a little late to the party!!)
I think its awesome that you got some guy (sucker) to pick up the phone!!
I might have to try that when I go back to the the World...IN JULY of this year!!
Now, I have to say that my world completely crashed down on me on Thursday (more on that later, I just cant talk about it quite yet..sorry) but I told my DH ..."I need some happy in my life and Walt can give it to me"..
and he agreed!!
So, off to plan a trip!!![]()
BUT...the last 2 trips we've never really explored Morocco, so maybe this time??
