Most Embarrassing Cruise Moment....

On the last nite of our first cruise, I was trying to be so good by placing the packed bags outside the door before 11pm. :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 When I placed the first couple of bags outside the door, I was attired in short PJ bottoms and a smile. As the door accidently closed, the bags were nice and neatly placed, and I was standing next to them...without my door card. I gently tapped on the door, and my wife asked: "Who is it?". She let me wait in the corridor for a few minutes. I was glad to see that there was another man standing outside his door, pretty much in the same circumstances as I. We both nodded, and finally were allowed entry. Now I always keep my room key in my hand. :rolleyes1

I agree with kecall ... These are priceless... I must subscribe... Unfortunately I have no funny cruise stories to pass on, but I can tell one about WDW... We were eating outdoors when I reached for the ketchup and a bird decide to p@@p at that moment. Although it appeared to land all on my hand, I decided to throw out the fries anyways... no one wanted to eat them after that incident!

My dh would have died!!! :rotfl: Thanks for sharing!

We were totally new to cruising on our first DCL cruise in 2000. And we all stumbled through our first life boat drill. Our DD was 13 at the time and asked us if they did that more than once on a cruise. We truthfully replied we weren't sure, but didn't think so. The next morning the rest of the family was up and out of the cabin doing activities. Remember, DD was 13(the age of sleeping late!) Well we all heard the announcement that the drill horn to follow was for crew only. DD was still asleep. So all she heard was the alarm. She jumped up and searched for her life jacket, wondering where we all were and ran out into the hall to get to her muster station. She was very embarrassed to find she was the only one! And we seem to be hard pressed to let her forget it!

...Okay, after re-telling this story I think *I'm going to be sick! I can handle a lot of things but I don't do vomit! :sad2:

But Mommy, you did!!! Isn't it amazing what we think we can't handle but then when it happens to our own kids we go into auto-mode? You did well! :thumbsup2

Ok...get ready... popcorn::

You know how they're always reminding you, when you pack your luggage on the last night and put it outside your stateroom, to keep clothes out for the next day? Well.......

Our last morning I was getting dressed, and ready to go up for our last breakfast, when I realized I forgot to keep out PANTS! Yup - that's right! I was pants-less!!!

I panicked...and screamed at my husband, who was in the shower at the time. He came running out, thinking I was falling overboard or something. When he found out my problem he started laughing!! (Of course, he had pants!!) :rotfl2:

So, I called Guest Services and asked them if I could get my suitcase back, and of course, they said no - they were already off the ship and could not come back on. So, I asked them if I could buy shorts or something from the gift shop, and they said no, they were already closed for this sailing and could not be opened back up.

The Guest Services person said the best she could do, was to look through Lost & Found to see if there were any pants or shorts that she could give me. So, I sent DH down there (while I sat in the room with NO PANTS, hoping the Cabin Steward wasn't going to come in!).

Well, after about 45 minutes, DH finally came back with a bag in his hand, and a smirk on his face. :sad2:

I have to tell you....I normally wear an XL. Well, the only thing Guest Services could find was a very slinky black skirt (that must have been the bottom half of a very slinky formal 2-piece dress). And it was a size EXTRA SMALL!!! I squished myself into it, and I couldn't move! I felt like a mermaid!!!

So, I slithered out and found the cabin steward and asked to use his scissors. I cut the whole bottom half of the skirt off, so it was above my knee. Now, instead of a mermaid, I looked sleazy, in a Way-Too-Tight slinky black miniskirt, with a t-shirt. :lmao:

Then, we had to go to breakfast like that!! I just, very cooly :smooth: acted like it was normal to dress this way, and pretended nobody else was around. We had breakfast, then got off the ship.

I kept the skirt as a memento (and a reminder to never forget to keep PANTS out again!). Now, I wish I had a picture (but I'm kinda glad I don't!) :)

Rhonda-

Thanks SO MUCH for telling that story!
I guess not you'll NEVER forget to keep pants out the night before, huh?!:rotfl2:
Thanks for making me laugh tonight! :)

My mom and some of her friends went on a cruise. One of the ladies packed all her clothes and set them outside the nite before. She had to come home in her nightclothes. Thankfully, she slept in top and bottoms or she would of had to come home in her nightee... lol.

We've never been on a disney cruise yet, however, we went to WDW about 6 yrs ago. It was me, my kids and my parents. Well my dd was 7 and my ds was 4 1/2. We were standing under a tree figuring out where to go next when my dd lets out a scream as if someone is beating her and starts doing the jumping up and down in place screaming that only little girls can accomplish. People were actually stopping and looking at us in horror at us... lol. It turned out that a bird poop on her shoulder and she went into hysterics!. We are still laughing about it all these years later. And if someone asks us if we have been to WDW we start laughing and she rolls her eyes and say yes we have and yes a demon bird pooped on me... lol. We had to go and buy her a new shirt.

Oh my gawd!
I am laughing so hard but if that had happened to me I'd have been mortified. I can only imagine what my bottom half would look like in an extra small slinky formal skirt cut off like that... probably wouldn't be pretty- at all. LOL

Did you like find a bathroom REALLY fast once you got off the ship and got your luggage? LOL I would have... thanks for the belly laughs.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Thanks for the laughs! DH and I were laughing out loud. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Well to this day we laugh pretty hard at this story. We went cruising durring hurricane season and the waves were pretty rough. My DH and DD age 7 were in the ocean for hours playing in the waves. When we got back to shower off my DD was in the shower and she kept saying her bottom was itching really bad. So my fear was sea lice so I stick my head in and start looking for bugs or something. She is like no mom its in my bottom....so I have her bend over and what do I find....SEAWEED!!!! I never laughed so hard :rotfl: To this day we still bring it up and she is 11 now.

I'm not 100% positive but I think they are a parasite(?) that live in the ocean and they get trapped in your swimsuit and bite you. My SIL's got them once in Mexico. They both had these small, red, itchy bumps.

My DH left "Wonder" pants-less after our first cruise. We very carefully kept all the clothes we would need for the morning, packed our clothes and set them outside.

The reminder to keep clothes for the morning should include a phrase like "Keep clothes that will still fit you after this cruise." DH had gained 12 pounds since we left home, and couldn't close his pants (or even come close enough to be decent), so he left the ship in his bathing suit. Since Disney checked our luggage straight through at the airport, he also flew home in his bathing suit, a nice polo shirt, dress shoes and socks! The flight crew loved the story, even the pilot came out to talk to my poor husband.

Now he tries EVERYTHING on before we pack!
