Most Disgrace To Twin Towers.

pinkgal - it was very odd, she had a taxi all set to take her to the train station, over slept and missed the taxi, and then just decided not to go. Talk about karma. This happened ALOT that morning. apparently, there were over 50 unused tickets for each plane. alot of stories just like my wifes, missed a train, missed a bus, little nagging feelings that you just shouldnt go. Very odd.

there are like a million "conspiracy theories".. the one that scares ME the most is the flight number in wingdings, that just freaks me right out.. :guilty:

I TOTALLY Agree, these rooms just soar to the top, and you know why? because it is important moment in history. yet people make a show of it to get to the top of the list Shame Really.. :sad2: :sad2:

Sick of those "Remember The Twin Crocidile Hunter Who Likes Fall Out Boy Too" rooms???

Come on over to the Virtual Quest Arcade! You might win something!

:rolleyes1

All I can say is these rooms are pathetic. Living my entire life within view of the towers, knowing people who died in the towers as well as on Flight 93, which heck I have taken a couple of times myself for work out of Newark, it blows my mind how ridiculous people can be. I just find it sensationalist and tacky. The fact is I am sure some rooms are meant in good taste, but for those who remember going through that day like it was yesterday, I would think a little respect is in order.

Sorry for the brief rant, but between the over glorification in the media today who are just trying to score ratings for the best coverage and everyone else who just witnessed that day as part of Primetime TV and trying to make it seem like they were really a part of it.....well just remember those people who actually were...and especially those who had it worse than others......
I consider myself lucky in knowing immediate friends and family were ok that day, but there are a lot of people around my neck of the woods who can't say the same......hence the rant.

A giant hug to you. And yes - the slightest things literally changed lives that day. My own brother was supposed to be in the Towers, but ended up in a last minute meeting across town. and a cousin who lives right in the area, changed plans and went out of town the night before. Seemingly random things that you never realize how they can change your world.

Hugs to you and others that are touched by today.

That is sick I hope he gets banned forever we still think of that day being my sister's birthday and it was so sad.

There is nothing right about that room and no excuse for making such a disrespectful one at that.

I didn't know anyone who suffered in the Trade Centers, planes, or anywhere else there was a disaster such as the pentagon, or any of the firemen, but it would taste a lie to say it didn't affect me personally.

It is one of those things that I won't ever forget, ever. That day is stamped into my mind forever and it kills me to remember that my school virtually did nothing about it. My teacher walked in and told us that two planes hit buildings. She folded up the paper that read this information and went right back to the lesson as if nothing happened. None of us at the school knew of its signifigance or how much of a tragic disaster it was. I didn't find out until I got home and watched the news. I just sat with my family all night trying to figure out why any human being would want to do such a thing...I was so confused and I still have yet to figure it out.

That day was really weird in my school. I go to a Catholic School so, we went to Church and barely did one piece of work. When our teacher was going to tell us, she barely got the words out because she was crying so much. And another thing was that a lot of kids went home before they told us. I was in 4th Grade.
I had an aunt who worked in the Trade Center and she was stuck in the subway but I am not sure where it was stuck. I also had a classmate who said she was suppose to be on that flight, but she sort of lies a lot.

Let me start by saying that I don't think there's anything at all cool about that "Escape from Twin Towers" room. That's just tacky. However, the other ones I have a little more sympathy for, and here's why. I'm assuming (and hoping) that most of them were made by younger kids. Kids don't always know what's appropriate or know how to express their grief and confusion at an event like this. Previous post compared it to the death of the Crocodile Hunter, and I agree, it's exactly the same mechanism at work. A 10-yr-old is still not an adult, and might think a room with lots of characters dancing around coffins is a nice tribute. While I think many of the adults on this board would not, I think it's because we have the perspective of adults (you know, old and wise like we are - lol).

Anyway, I am not trying to flame anyone and say that it is not ok to be offended by these rooms. I'm just saying that when I consider the source, it doesn't bother me as much.

Wow. That is terrible.

There was a beautiful room I was in yesterday. It made me cry. The owner had created the twin towers with the gray tables. She had tons of photos on the walls talking about what had happened. Then, on another wall, she had photos of other VMK members who had lost someone or knew someone who had lost someone. The whole room was covered in candles, too.

If you can create something that will get your room on the top of the list, by golly they will do it. I'm really disgusted.

Not everyone creates the tribute rooms to get something out of it. I created long ago my Soldiers Tribute Rooms, and you can ask any one of my friends or a great many of the people who came in to walk through them just how many times I said that I DON'T WANT any kind of recognition for my rooms, just want people to come in and remember our troops. I even told staff to please don't consider me for "Best Guest" room award when they toured through it, because winning an award for the room would take away from the meaning behind me making the rooms. I have been in the military, and been over-seas fighting already. So I have been in their shoes before and felt like the families might appreciate someone actually taking the time to possibly help remember the soldiers anyway possible and that is exactly what I did. So don't think for once that EVERYONE makes "Tribute" rooms for recognition.

wow.. that is just too bad to explain.. :sad1: :sad1: i dont get it, all these people died on that day and he says try to escape the nerve!! :furious: :furious:

:( Those people must not realise how serious this really was - many people died and many people lose loved ones. :( My school had a prayer celebration on 9/11

That's just so sad. Making a game for escaping out of the Twin Towers. If I knew him or her I would give him/her the 9/11 CNN DVD that I watched in Social Studies. Then they would know that what they did was wrong. It had people jumping out of the building, and them being taped to their death! :sad2:

I think that the owner of that room is truly disgusting, why would anyone do that sort of thing. Although I have relatives in the states I did not know anybody who was involved in the twin towers disaster; but it was still a really emotional time for alot of people. I am very shocked that vmk would even allow this sort of room to be created. To make that sort of room is not only extremely DISTURBING, but it is RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, INSENSITIVE, and SICK to even make a game about something so tragic, so many people lost their lives or their friends and loved ones in that accident five years ago that i would never, ever think of creating a game out of other peoples real life loss just to get some good ratings in a virtual game.
It is UNSPEAKABLE and although they may have been a young vmk player that is NO excuse to create such a room. It is just plain IGNORANT to do what that person did, if they didn't know what they were talking about and how many people they were hurting in making their game they should not have even been bringing it up in vmk. If i had been in that room I would have tried to explain to the person why their game was wrong and reported to vmk staff asking them to please shut down the room. I get so angry by that, i wish i could meet that person and tell them what i think of them! :furious:
This is a time to reflect on the past tragedy and be grateful for all that we have in our lives, not hurt people (who actually were affected by 9/11) by making a stupid gameabout that horrible day. We should celebrate our lives and families at this time and send our heart out to those who lost alot on 9/11 five years ago. :grouphug:

that is so disgraceful, rude, disrespectful, mys well not live on the earth, everybody besides the arabs had sympathy for us. my good friend had to run down 40 flights of staircases to escape with his life. when i see anything about that horrific day all of america will remember, it sickens me. yeah, some things i may say or do are rude, but NOTHING in vmk is as Terrible, bad, idiotic, STUPID as that room title and that owners game, if i were vmk id ban him on the spot. just because he wanted ppl in his room.... :sad2:
Escape the twin towers, ok id rather have a dance club and get banned for that. i wouldnt have a room with a game like that for 50 pairs of green flips. its just SUCH a disgrace, to everybody on dis, vmk, USA, and ALL over the world that remember that tragic day... such a shame, people at least pretend to care about where u live. we have it so good, be glad we dont live in cuba with fedel castro, we'd be locked in cages, we even have the right to go to school and all kids like myself DREAD school. even the clothes i wear, 20 bucks a shirt, people around the globe, some ,make 50 cents a day. NEVER take anything u have or will have for granite, it can be gone by tomorrow

wow, i should show my english teacher this, i typed good stuff

anyways, that room should be closed and NEVER be opened again.

I was just generalizing. Didn't mean to insult you if I did. :)
