Looking to get some great ideas for my WDW scrapbook that I will be starting once I'm back from my upcoming trip. Tell me the most creative or different item or format you've used in your WDW scrapbooks - pressed coins, maps, etc. Whatever - I want to hear it all !!! LOL! Thanks.

Lets see-

Maps, Coins, Charms, free stuff (ie fast passes, napkins, stickers, those free hats ya get with some meals) Autographs (either xeroxed or the real one if its not in my autograph book) confetti

Big bulky things like pins and buttons Ive color xeroxed and added

For my DL books I did by land the front page has all the stuff from that land ie Fastpasses, stickers etc as I *know* most of it isnt acid free so I keep it seperate.

The bigger stuff and the extras from DL I have a shadow box frame I showcased it in.

I was at WDW the only cold rainy week in February. We met my parents at Epcot (they were being snow birds) for one day. It rained ALL day. We got 2 photos in the English gardens (me & DH and DM & Ddad) before breakfast and that was it. It was a great day. Exactly 1 week later I got a call that my dad needed by-pass surgery. All was fine, but that day in Epcot become something I will never forget.

I only had those 2 photos, but I had to include that day. I journaled the whole rest of the page and put a piece of my rain poncho in. I love that page, rain drops & all.

Best quote of the page: "and the rain, rain , rain, came down, down, down":rolleyes1

So, my piece of rain poncho was the most creative item. Sorry for the wordy reply!

I save EVERYTHING when we travel. I may or may not use it all, but the stuff comes in handy for journaling notes, fact verification, etc.

Here are a few of my layouts that either use some of my saved stuff or I did something I think is unique

Computer generated sign hung on tree stickers

Apprx 40 feet of Twistel

Animal shaped paper clips and pressed penny

Buttons, sewing, autograph

Computer generated sign, Hidden Mickey punches

Disney Dollars, DD Map, mini shopping bags

Drink stirrers and postcards

Hair cut confetti in a barber poll shaker box

I used chicken wire (I mean "poultry netting") for my Goofy's Barnstormer layout. I've also used the Home Depot Mickey heads, AOL CDs, postcards, fast passes, frames the Disney photos come in and those little cards they give you with the numbers for your picture, a little certificate my DS got for head of the line privileges once he's tall enough to ride Tower of Terror, and this stuff that almost looks like a karate belt (which I printed on) for a Minne and Me layout.

I think that's about it...

Great layouts Diane!:) You do an awesome job!

Bethany - I looked at some of your layouts and just love your mini shopping bags. Where did you get thoses or is that something that you made? I need those for my downtown disney page.

I have to laugh.... the LO with the chicken wire is one that I have printed from the 2peas site for my "inspiration" notebook (I knew it was a Diser but couldn't remember your Dis name). How did you get the wire glued down? How do you keep the ends from poking through the page protector and scratching things? Thanks for sharing................P

I do lots of background designs with chalk. Examples: I chalked an open kitchen cupboard, on the shelves added some Jolee old-fashioned appliances for a "50 Primetime Restaurant" layout.

I cut the little index card photo's up. Sketched out the state or country I was visiting. glued the photo's on the sketch. Had a stain glass look.

With colored paper, made a huge apple cutout windowpane's inside, put pictures of GD making apple pie. You can do this with anything, a large pumpkin and photo's at the pumpkin patch. I cut 4 squares on the apple, you could get 6 on a pumpkin.

Here is my most creative item to date... I haven't really used it yet, but I know where I am going to use it. Just got it today. I got the "All Ears" email newsletter today and there was an interesting article written by a guy who has a website called "bigBrians Disney page". Anyhow, this guy is a collector of vintage disney postcards and he has photos/scans of them all on the website. THere were some beautiful cards of artist renderings of Epcot (before it opened). They were almost Monet-like (sort of impressionist).

ANYHOW, while we were in WDW this past January my DD did the "pick a pearl" oyster thing in the Japanese area of Epcot. But we were in a bit of hurry, as we had forgotten to do this earlier in the day and had to go back while DH and DS were waiting and I forgot to grab the camera from DH. She got a BEAUTIFUL large silver/blue pearl. I really want to journal about this in the scrapbook, but I have no photos of the event and no photos of the Japan area (maybe one or two, but facing the water, not the buildings). But there was a beautiful postcard shown on this website, so I tried printing it out and it came out beautifully!! So I will be using this to scrap this event!!

Most of the other things I use in my WDW books are not that unusual.... park maps, parking tickets, napkins, stickers (that we get in the parks), confetti, streamers, leftover FastPasses, ride photo number cards.

Sorry to be so wordy.... HTH.................P

Oh, there is a woman on ebay that sells Disney Ephemera. Lots of cool stuff, I think her buy it now price os about $10. She sends multiple pages of scanned and printed stuff...vintage postcards, ticket stubs, advertisements, packages, etc. I bought 2 sets from her and got no duplicates.

Actually, I sewed it down... well, more like tied it down, I guess. Haven't had a problem with it sticking through the page protectors.

I know I need to change my name over here... but I don't know how. Okay, so I haven't actually checked into it... LOL!!

You know... not that this goes with any Disney theme (except for maybe cruising), but Home Depot (and I heard other places) sell these cool keys. I bought some with a tropical scene on them and one with American flags. I have yet to use them, but I will someday!! ;)

Hi Bethany,

LOVE your layouts.

Where did you get the animal clips on the AK safari page?

Tamsyn

The clips were sold at Pier 1....unfortunately they have been discontinued.
