Most convenient gas station?

We'll be staying at Pop, could anyone tell me where the most convenient gas station is between Pop and the Orlando airport? Last time we got caught not finding a gas station to fill up our rental (I'm sure this is no accident) we just couldn't find a gas station between AKL and the airport and we were running late so we had no time to search for one.........and we paid dearly!!!

This time I don't want to get caught in the same situation.

I want to say that the Hess station located across the street from Downtown Disney would be a convenient location, however I am not sure if going there would mean coming out of the way from Pop Century.

I just remembered that there is also the Hess station that is located next to the Boardwalk, however I am going to say the same thing again. I am not sure if going there would mean going out of your way from Pop Century. Besides that the only other Hess station is the one located by the Magic Kingdom Car Care Center, which would be to far away from Pop Century.

Take Osceola Parkway to I-Drive (by the Gaylord Palms) and take that to 192. Make a right onto 192 and there will be a Race Trak gas station not far down the road with the most competitive price in the area. Then make a right onto 192 and a left onto Celebration Ave. (first traffic light), and the entrance to 417 will be a short distance down 192...then you're off to the airport!

I have been to that Race Track location you are talking about and you are correct that their prices are always very good.

Double post.

The Mobile across the street usually isn't bad either...tends to match the Race Track or be within a penny or two. Sometimes I pay the extra few cents as a convenience fee since I live in Celebration and it's easier to cut through the Water Tower Place shopping center to Celebration Ave. if you know where you're going (plus they have GODLY flavored coffee, although they quit serving it by early afternoon).

Which route are you taking? If you go I-4 to the Beachline, I think there's an exit about halfway to the airport with some gas stations. 417, I don't know. Keep in mind, some (Dollar?) agencies require a receipt showing you filled up within four miles of the return location.

I-4 to the Beachline (528; Bee Line). Get off 528 at its exit 9 Tradeport. Left and cross under. Nice cheap gas station is right there on the left.

Exiting the gas station, get into middle lane without crossing back under, 528 in your rear view mirror. Required right onto McCoy, Next light, under two miles later, is Semoran (436) and airport entrance. You're well within the 4 mile range the car rental company expects.

No scrounging off the beaten path!

You can fill up (the night before?) at a Hess station at Disney (across from Boardwalk?) and just top off and get a final recept near the airport.

Thanks everyone!!! I'm going to print this off and figure out the best place to stop!

If you come out of Disney on 536 heading past the Marriott Orlando World Center, there is a new Hess plaza on the right of 536 at the International Drive intersection just before the 417 entrance.

Another option if you get on 417 without filling up is to take the airport exit, but head through the airport on the north exit to 436 and fill up there just over the intersection with 528. There is a gas station on the left at the first light.

Warning! There is an extremely expensive gas station (maybe two?) on 436 (Semoran) north of the airport via the north exit. I'm not sure which one it is (they are). If you do go up 436, be prepared to keep going and find several stations to compare prices.

Another choice: If you do come off 417 south of the airport and decide you need to go straight through the airport and up north for gas, take a left at the first light out of the airport (Frontage), then go a little more than a mile, to the next light and take a left there (Conway). There wil be a nice gas station on the right. (The same one I suggested above.) I mention this path because it's a nice way to Disney upon first arrival, skipping a toll booth and getting on 528 (Beach Line; Bee Line) opposite that gas station and going westbound.

I don't remember a gas station at the corner of Semoran and Frontage (the first light) so maybe that's a new one. Not sure of their gas prices.
