Most comfortable car seat?

Thanks to all those who responded. I have been hesitant to spend the $250 for a car seat(not that I wouldn't for her safety, but it seemed like it was just for the "name") but I may go ahead and splurge on it. I thought $200 was a lot to spend on an "umbrella" stroller, too, until I bought our MacLeran. The Triumph may be an option as well, though. I'm going to do a little more research on prices...I don't have a Babies R Us near me, so I'll probably order online.

I will look into using the pool noodle things....I think for a little while(until she can hold her head better) this would do the trick. For some reason I was thinking I had read somewhere that if you put anything extra under the seat that you were messing with the safety of the product(maybe in the manufacturer's instructions that came with the seat?), but we have some friends that are state troopers, so we could ask them what they recommend, and what is legal in our state(ky).

We just got a 2nd Britax Marathon for my mom's car online at www.babyage.com for $194, no tax and free shipping. We got our other Marathon and our Roundabout at www.bestbuybaby.com last summer, for my car and my husband's car. The Roundabout was $169 (thought I think it's $149 or $159 this summer) and the Marathon was $219. Again, no tax and free shipping. The only reason we got this newest carseat at BabyAge last week was that my mom lives in NJ and that's where BestBuyBaby is so we would have had to pay sales tax. Both companies were very good to deal with and sent out the product within 2 days of ordering.

Target sells the Britax if you wanted to go look at them and try them out. I would definately buy it online. I bought mine for $199 no tax and free shipping. Just have to do a search. Definately worth the money.

Evenflo Triumph! Comfy, safe, and half the price of Britax... we have one for each car- (town & country van and sebring convertible)

We have the Britax Marathon and the weight limit goes up to 65 lbs so we will not have to purchase another car seat. So in the long run it is less expensive.

We have learned when purchasing car seats and strollers European standards are higher than US standards. According to the BRU salesperson, the Britax is the only car seat the the sides are made of the same material as motorcycle helmets. The Evenflo is made with the same material as bicycle helmets. It is the safest of the US made car seats according to our BRU salesperson.
