Most annoying vocabulary blunders

I know I'll probably get flamed....but does anyone else get annoyed by posts with blatantly bad vocabulary? :stir:

I don't mean those cases where someone typed too fast and forgot a letter or two from a word. It is those where the poster clearly means one word but uses another with a totally different meaning.

The one that bugs me the most is the use of "loose" instead of "lose".
i.e., "It would be a shame to loose the Adventurer's Club...."

My faith in the educational system has been fading for some time now.

Any other examples that bug you?

What really annoys me is when people use an incorrect spelling of a word to save space. My teenager is horribly guilty of doing that in her written conversations with friends. Examples: "cuz" rather than "because" or the number "2" rather than "too" or "to"...

They also seem to ignore basic sentence structure and capitalization rules. That drives me insane.

I get more annoyed with spoken blunders!! If people can't speak, I can only imagine how they write. Things like breffast and libarry really irk me :headache:

I know my grammar and spelling very well, but will sometimes type something wrong unintentionally. My biggest thing seems to be typing "know" instead of "now". :confused3 I have no idea why I do that, but I do. I correct my posts if I notice I made an error, but I am sure I have tons of them out there that aren't perfect.

That being said, it doesn't bother me when other people do it either, we all make mistakes. I wouldn't be surprised if I made one in this post. :rotfl:

I've got pretty good grammar, but I can't spell. at all. I'm just horrible.

Nope, don't sweat the small stuff. Besides, if only the really "smart" people posted, it would be a lot less interesting. ;)

I could care less. what if they are typing when they have been drinking?? I can't fault them for that :confused3

I think it's snobby to critique another person's spelling.

I went to Catholic schools and believe me when I say those nuns DRILLED grammar into us. I can't stand verb tense errors and pronoun errors. I just want to stop them and correct them, it is like chalk on a blackboard to me.

Oh yes, and how many here don't know what a blackboard is; or chalk? LOL

thanks, I feel better now.

Holy crap....I must say that is the ONLY thing that bothers me. I was just going to post that. I can't believe someone beat me to it. Irregardless is redundant and just plain horrible english.

Anything else is fine.....I take off my "correct english" gloves when I am on the internet, well, except for that darned "irregardless"!!!! :scared:

My private meassaging option is turned off!!! :thumbsup2

I hate when people say I seen instead of I saw. Or use the wrong their, there, they're. Too, to and two also get me.

This isn't a blunder but just a simple over used word. I am so tired of hearing
the word "AWESOME". :headache:

The spelling and grammer don't bother me nearly as much as peoples need to endlessly point it out to others. Especially if there is anything near a debate going on. That someone feels superior to point out others typing, spelling or grammer mistakes....well, thats just childish to me. I don't know about you, but I've got bigger and better things to worry about. :thumbsup2
Now I did post a picture on another web site and "someone" told me I looked like I had just walked out of a saloon, :rotfl2: I think she meant salon, but it's kind of hard to tell with her :scratchin

One that bugs me is you are
You're invited
I got an invitation in the mail from a major car dealer in our area in huge letters
Your invited
Umm what happened to the proof reader
I am a terrible typsist and I make tons of errors.

Doesn't bother me at all. Lifes to short to worry about small stuff like that. who cares? :confused3
