Mosquitos or other biting bugs?

We will be at Disney in August. Should I pack mosquito spray for mosquitos or other insects that bite? We are staying at the Pop and plan on some late night strolls.

We were at WDW last week and saw no bugs at all and received no bites (family of 8) with one exception:

One night we went to the pool at the Contemporary around 9pm and it was dark and there were zillions of mosquitoes everywhere. But no one seemed bothered by them so I asked the lifeguard and he said (very seriously) that they were NON-BITING mosquitoes. I am totally allergic to mosquito bites and didn't believe him, but sat there for an hour or more (not in the pool, at a table) and did not receive any bites at all!!!!! Of course, this was in June, so it may be different in August.

we were at the poly from 6/19-23 and got no bites at all. Our last night we stayed at POR, and I GOT TAGGED. (and I did check the beds for bed bugs..) Sitting at the pool for my late night smokes was cause for regret. I got devoured..(and had bug spray which I failed to use..)

We only had a problem on one trip with mosquitos. We were at the MK and we got bit pretty badly on the train ride from Toontown to Main St. We were staying for Wishes so we went to the Emporium for bug spray. After we had to pay WDW prices for Off we bring our own.;)

We haven't had to use it since, knock on wood!

We were there 6-15 to 6-27 and I was bitten by something, a spider probably and a mosquito multiple times at Hollywood Studios. Those bites were itchy and hurt, actually they still are. So I highly recommend packing something.

Thanks for the tips. I will now begin looking for a travel size bug spray. I haven't seen that suggested on the packing lists. A few years ago I remember getting many bites while watchng the Electric Light Parade and when we were sitting on our balcony at WL. For this trip in August I imagine late night strolls around POP and I don't want to be eaten alive. I'll also bring the itch relief stick.

Do you thing they fog for mosquitos?
