Mosh pit anyone?

Oh no i used to love them, just not sure i would go see them now. BUT i would go see the B.S.Boys. How about i just saw Rick Springfield last year and he was YUMMY. :lmao: :lmao:

LOVE the Backstreet Boys. the only boyband i ever even bothered with!

i saw Billy Idol about 2 years ago. that man is still gorgeous!

I saw them once because my DD and her friends liked them.
Second time I wanted to see them and brought her even though she
didn't like them much anymore. It was a fantastic concert!

I haven't been in a pit since I took a dive off the stage into one at a Sepultura concert in Denver in 1989 because Max Cavalera double-dared me to. :lmao:

Sickest pit I think I've ever seen was at a KoRn concert at Continental arena, there were three pits with about 800 people in each one! Saw one a few months back--Nonpoint at House of Blues Orlando--that was insane! The security guys wouldn't even go down there--there were probably 500 people in that pit, the entire floor was involved and more people were trying to push down the stairs to get into the pit, inadvertantly knocking people who didn't want anything to do with it into it in the process. Elias actually stopped the show for a minute to get the people off the floor.

I do love to watch them--and the crowd surfers--though!

That looks like so much fun!

the best concert of theirs i went to see was 2 years ago in March i believe. it was in Ohio at a House of Blues there and the show was 18+ it was so much fun!

I used to like moshing when I first started going to Warped Tour in high school. The last time I got stuck in the pit it sucked. The 15 and under crowd have no clue about mosh etiquette :sad2:

My DH & I are taking DD13 to her first big concert in May. My Chemical Romance OF COURSE!! She's a little nervous but very excited about the mosh pit. She'll probably give it a try and see how it goes. She's so mad at me though, she just found out yesterday that I have backstage passes to the next night's show in Portland and she's not allowed to go :( My friend with the passes said he absolutely will not allow a 13yo backstage at a concert unless it's someone very tame.

Why does your friend say that? It just sounds kind of strange to me.

I'm not the one with the friend who has backstage passes, but I'm guessing he doesn't want to bring a 13 year old because they're usually the ones going OMGOMGOMGILOVEYOU and screaming their heads off rather than having a rational conversation with anyone. But before anyone yells at me for generalizing, I know there are 13 year olds that wouldn't do that, and I know there are 23 year olds who would.

And I'm not a big My Chemical Romance fan, so I really have no idea what they're like personality wise... but I wouldn't imagine backstage at a rock concert is really the best place for a 13 year old anyway.

I am dating myself here:

Last mosh pit was at a Public Image concert and I had a plaster cast on my arm. Let's just say those slam dancing into me were NOT too happy about it!

I'm going to date myself too, only worse. I don't know what a mosh pit is. :confused3

Are you crazy??

Nevermind, Muffy, I know the answer to that one.

As OneThingRemains said, he just doesn't think it's an appropriate place for a 13yo. He knows my daughter is very mature for her age and wouldn't go "gaga" or embarrass herself. That being said, he's worked in the business since college and knows first hand what it's like backstage. Personally, I would let her go, I'll be there with her and from what I know of the band they're very polite. It's his call though and I respect that totally. I've (with his blessing) promised her backstage passes to whatever band she pleases for her 16th birthday. It is funny though, we worked together for bands for 4 or 5 years during and after college, to hear him talk, you'd swear I know nothing about musicians. Heck, I've been married to one for 17 years! One more thing, DH agrees with DF.

Still strange to me. I've never seen an out of control backstage area. Dressing room maybe, but that's not the norm anymore.

I've never been to a concert with a mosh pit.

I've only been to 3 concerts in my whole life. Many years ago I saw Barry Manilow, Michael Bolton, and Kenny Gee.

None of those three are exactly the mosh pit type. :lmao:

Is anyone else getting a visual??? :rotfl2:
"Oooohhhhh Mandy, you came and you stayed without taking...."
And mommaU4 is sailing through the air, surfin' the crowd!!!
