My BF and I are going to Universal at the start of our vacation this weekend. We've been to Universal in LA, but never in FL. We're staying at the HRH.

My BF has been working 12-14 hour days for the past week to get all his work done before we leave for Florida. He loves to sleep in, and getting up early for the parks was one of the things he disliked about our trip to WDW last year.

It's a slower time of year and the hotels don't look that crowded, so I'm not that worried about sleeping in once we're at WDW starting Monday. But we're at Universal over the weekend (IoA on Saturday, Universal on Sunday) and I know a lot of locals go on the weekend.

Since we're staying at the HRH and we'll have FOTL passes, do you think it's safe to sleep in Saturday and Sunday and get to the parks around noon? How bad do you think the crowds will be?

Thanks for any info you can pass along to a Universal newbie. :-)

We will be at the PBH starting Friday for three nights before we go over to the GF. We usually don't sleep in late anytime, home or away.

At Universal and WDW I get up early and go to the pool to relax and read the paper. My DW and DD18 and DD17 join me mid morning.

We visit both frequently and don't fill the need to go too early. With FOTL access, we are still able to do everything we want multiple times.

IMO...I don't see a urgent need to get up early if you don't want to.
