Our trip is 3 weeks away and we found out we are 8 weeks pregnant. Yay! Here's the problem I have severe morning sickness (hyperemesis gravidium). Anyone have advice? Ever been with morning sickness?
Im thrilled and bummed all at the same time especially since it's food and wine time.

I did a trip when I was pregnant with my first. I was about 10 weeks when we went. I drank a ton of water and didn't over do it. If I started to feel bad, I found a place that had a/c. Back then there was a baby center by Crystal Palace. They were happy to let me hang out in there and all the moms gave me lots of advice about surviving WDW preggo. That was 15 years ago. I hope you can power through the morning sickness and have a good time on your trip.

I found ginger Altoids to be very helpful for me in general with morning sickness. They are a bit spicy but made me feel better right away and was easier to carry than candied ginger pieces.

This is a bit of a stretch, but when I had morning sickness, the only thing that would help was a sierra mist. Not sprite, had to be sierra mist. Maybe you will be able to find something in the next three weeks that helps?

I'm sorry I really don't have much advice but I do feel your pain. When I was 8 weeks pregnant with my daughter (she is now 21 months old) I started in with the same morning sickness you are describing. Its a good thing that was when I told my hubby I was pregnant (wanted to wait to announce it at Disney)..Because I am sure he would have guessed if I hadn't. Up until that point I was fine but I did NOT realize how much food Disney makes..well I do now because everywhere I went the smell of food made me even more Nauseous. I spent most of my time looking so green that It would make the aliens from toy story appear normal. I coped with trying to hold my breath when we went by most of the food places and I do believe that the worst place that I had to deal with it was Hollywood studios (all the food places at the beginning was really hard) but also taking it easy. Hugs to you :goodvibes and Congrats on the pregnancy :grouphug:

My second was a bit of a surprise and I was sick 24/7 for a number of weeks. We had plans to take a german friend to WDW otherwise I would have canceled. It was not an easy trip. I wish I had some great advice. I spent a fair amount of time sleeping. I was very sick with both pregnancies and I learned to only eat what I wanted and when. If something helped the day before, and I did not want it the next and forced it, well I would be sick. I did not get much out of that trip and it was 5 years before I was willing to go back.

May seem like an odd suggestion, but how about wearing Sea Bands? I was lucky and never had severe morning sickness with either pregnancy, but know of many women who did. I've heard from several that these bands actually helped them feel better. At least it can't hurt!

Congrats! And also yikes! I had hyperemesis with my last pregnancy so I feel your pain. I've never done the parks while pregnant, so I'm no help there, but I did want to put in a plug for vitamin b6 supplements. I took b-natal through most of my pregnancy and it helped so much! My doctor eventually prescribed Zofran, though I did my best not to take it since I'm one of those ladies that is scared to take any drugs while pregnant. I guess my best advice (besides the b-natal, seriously check it out) is to make sure you drink plenty of water, because the nausea gets worse when you start to get dehydrated, and pack some snacks that you can tolerate, I did better when I ate high protein foods. Good luck and have lots of fun!

Yogi Tea makes a tea for pregnancy that helps curb nauseousness. It might be worth trying it ahead if time and if it works, freeze some oh water bottles and bring with you. Good luck!!!

Zofran for sure if its as bad as it sounds. There are just sooooo many smells...

For general pregnancy queasiness, there were times when I only felt well if I was actively ingesting something. Root beer barrels and ginger hard candies were my savior :) Ricola cough drops worked, too. Sea bands never worked for me, but I have friends who swear by them.

Sending happy tummy thoughts!

I just experienced this during my trip this past June. I was around 6 weeks and the m/s was terrible, though thankfully not HG. PP's have all made good suggestions. I would just second the advice to drink as much water as possible and try not to become dehydrated. It's much easier for pg women to become so. Good luck!

I was 12 wks pregnant in our last trip and also hyper emesis. We booked the trip before I knew I was pregnant, and were celebrating my sons 3rd birthday. It was hard, not going to lie. I was crazy tired all the time. I puked A LOT in that trip, despite medication. Motion sickness made it worse. I frequently had to go back to the room and sleep in the afternoon while my family stayed in the park. It was still a fun trip, but I would never do it again in my first trimester. I think people who have uncomplicated pregnancies do OK, but when you're vomiting 6 times a day, its not much fun. I did need to go to first aid at MK one day and they were a big help. Don't be afraid to use those services if you need to. Drink lots of fluids, take frequent rests, and try to enjoy yourself. I also took Peggy pop lollipop drops with me. They didn't prevent me from throwing up, but were a great help curb the nausea after throwing up! Hope that helps! I feel your pain!!

my morning sickness wasn't severe but I had it in January at 7 weeks pregnant. almost puked in a bush in DTD. awesome. A lot of mornings it took me a while to get up and moving. I had a bagel every morning. Those weeks that I had morning sickness all I could eat was bagels, rice and pizza...weird haha. We bought some peppermint life savers and had gingerale in the room. They helps but man that sickness came on whenever and wherever. I mean, we had just got done eating at Wolfgang puck express, it was delicious...and then there it went! haha good luck!

Thanks everyone I already told our friends to not count on me for most things I decided against the ddp and we will just wing it. I have an appointment right before our trip so Im hoping he has some advice. I have zofran b6 and unisom already but I will try the ginger altoids preggy pops and rest.
Thank mama's I really appreciate the advice and encouragement.
