Any correlation between the two? I have three girls and they've all been different. But one thing that has always been the same is getting really dizzy to the point of almost passing out.

I felt my stomach turn in knots - oh boy, better get to the bathroom... got super dizzy as I fell to the toilet, knocked my glasses off into the garbage can, and lost my favorite nose ring into the toilet.

Ugh. It hasn't been a good morning.

My personal experience - I have two boys - no morning sickness with either one of them. With my daughter, I got sick to my stomach quite a few times.

I have 2 boys and 2 girls and am not pregnant with a girl.
With my boys it was pretty standard pregnancy sickness. With my girls I have gotten migraines which I never had before and the nausea lasts for a very long time. My last dd I was nauseous for 7 months straight all day every day. I think it is the overload of female hormones.
Still- I would do it all over again a million times to have my babies.

Funny for me it was the opposite...the girls I had ZERO sickness really. With the boys I had morning sickness the first three months, dizziness and smell issues for 9 months and back to morning sickness in months 8 and 9.

I know its just an old wives tale, but its fun to guess anyway. I'm 13 weeks now and have only been sick to my stomach about 4 times, but I get dizzy and naseated a lot. And the smells... oh boy, I tell my DH to stay away from me until he smells better! lol

Yeah smells...makes me quesy just thinking about it! The joys of pregnancy!

With my son I was nauseous for the whole pregnancy but it was only really bad at night. This time I've been throwing up a lot more and I'm nauseous basically the whole day. I found out yesterday that I'm having two girls, but it could be the twin factor that's making the morning sickness worse.

Yikes! Rough morning!!

The only thing I've ever heard (old wive's tale) is that if you have a lot of heart burn, your baby will have lots of hair..:)

It's also been said in the medical field that when they do an ultrasound nowadays they can determine the gender by the heart rate.. I "think" it was high for girls and low for boys.. Not 100% sure though..

Feel better! :santa:

I have heard that as well!

Not accurate. My son was 175 my dd was 130.

Three boys, no morning sickness with any of them. Lots of heartburn, all had oodles of hair. Oldest was born needing a haircut.

Smells only really bothered me with the first and that was eggs. Eggs bother me anyways but I was particularly sensitive with the first. The only time I was sick was when I was pregnant with the first and hubby thought making eggs at 11pm was a good idea. I didn't have the luxury of being able to get out of the house at that time of the day. He got an earful, poor man.

With my DS I had a few smell adversions but only a few weeks of nausea on and off. No throwing up at all.

With this one I had A LOT more smell adversions in the beginning and all day nausea to the point where I needed some OT meds. No throwing up but wishing I would to feel better. I am not a person that generally throws up anyway. I was much more dizzy with this one as well. I also have not gained any weight yet, despite starting at the same weight/size as I did with DS. With him I gained 35lbs pretty consistantly and was a lot heavier at this point in the PG. It's confirmed multiple times (to some minor dissapointment in the beginning) to be another boy.

My best friend never got sick with either of her daughters but had nausea.

The heartrate thing doesn't hold for me either. I don't know DS's but with this baby it's been in the upper 160's the whole time.

My OB swears that this is about 90% accurate. Although, if you google it, there have been studies that show it probably isn't. OTOH (the third one) I've "used" it on all my friends and have always been right. :)

My OB says this has zero truth to it. It definitely never held true for me.

Nor did the morning sickness thing. I guess I think every body and every pregnancy is different so I don't believe in any old wives tales like those.

I just had a my second son three weeks ago. With both boys, I had morning sickness. The first was mostly nausea all day long, not a whole lot of physically getting sick. This time aroun, I was sick up to the 17 week mark and I. WAS. SICK! It was pretty different from the first time around. I was convinced that he was a "she" until we say the evidience on ultrasound :)

I had two girls and did not have morning sickness with either of them. I take that back - I got sick once with #2.

I hope there's some truth to these...this is my first pregnancy and I've been sicker than a dog since...probably before 4 weeks. I'm at 13 now and on my second prescription for nausea, which helps somewhat, but I still don't feel great. DH and I would both love a girl (but are just praying for healthy). Heartrate at last appt was 158...but we're not finding out the sex until the birth. :)
