Morning extra hours for $69.00 am I dreaming?

Atlantis is fine if you don't mind spending tons of money to share the place with thousands of cruise ship passengers as well. They charge a premium price, but it's not a premium experience, IMO. There are better places to go for the money.

so have the dates been put out there ...
it will be so weird to go to park opening as a resort guest at 10 am !!!!

Also, I'm guessing a whole lot of DVC resale buyers are people who already have a contract through Disney. As somebody who has a contract through Disney, I'm thinking these new restrictions don't really hurt me at all. If I buy another contract from someone else, I still have my DVC member card and some points through Disney, so who is going to stop me from using my discounts? I'm already entitled to them with my original contract. That's probably true of a lot of people who buy through other sources I would imagine.

Am I off base on this? Or do a lot of first-time buyers go straight to non-Disney sales?
This is us as well. We have old contracts through Disney and some resale contracts, so this announcement doesn't impact our perks (which other than shopping discount, we don't use). However, from reading these boards, I do believe many first time buyers do go straight to resale. The lower prices are quite a draw.

While we do use the merchandise discount it's small so not a huge deal but losing the other discounts like on AP's and being able to buy the TIW card are kind of a big deal. Having that discount on AP's is one reason how we justify going multiple times a year. If we were to lose that perk we would definitely rethink how we use our membership (ie fewer trips & more banking).

Perhaps because theyve outpriced the market to sell what they need to?

Just a thought...

Don't forget the "Disney After Hours" for $149 or the additional MNSSHP events added to this year's line up.

Welcome back!

Perhaps my brain has gone Disney-dumb:rolleyes1, but imo the Disney After Hours @ $149 makes sense for certain guests...as in adults who only want to visit 1 day. Yes, they are out there, trust me.

Compare it to a single day MK tix prime time ($110+ ? i believe). Depending on how many they sell, could be very popular for those pre-cruise or who are focusing their trip @ Universal or SW/DC.

lol, there goes the neighborhood. whenever a large ship deposits me in Nassau, i'm happy to book the Comfort Suites and enjoy a lovely day there. Something for everyone in my family.

Just make a VIP fastpass already!! That is something I would love to pay for!

as much as i would love this idea, there is no way disney is going to be able to handle having something like this along with the disability passes and regular fastpass+. at that point there would be less people in the standby line probably :rainbow:

Plus it's the only way to get into many of the older resorts. I casually inquired about buying BCV and was almost laughed at due to being sold out and a closed wait list. (This was in talking with the sales guy in the BC lobby, ironically)

BCV has had wait lists to buy for many years. Now, you can't even get on the waitlist! I've pieced our BCV membership in units of 25-75 over a 5 year period, both direct though waitlist and resale. I have 6 contracts there!

I found a 350 point contract at a pretty good deal so I lucked out in that regard.

I just found it ironic that there was a full-fledged DVC desk with a computer and desk phone and all the usual theming and decorations, brochures, etc. IN THE BC LOBBY, and the guy had to suppress laughter at the insanity of my asking to buy at the resort he was set up in. What was I thinking?!
