Morning EMH

We have stayed offsite, and stayed in the park to take photos and shop once EMH starts. They don't kick you out like they do with special events, you just can't ride the rides. So we have sometimes used those hours to just enjoy the atmosphere.
Oh, I was under the impression that you have to leave the park if you're not on-site. That might be the best time to just do shopping/photos at the parks instead of during ride times, just like you suggested. Thanks for the answer, @chelynnah!

In the morning do get a wristband or anything to identify you belong at EMH? I thought for the night time you'd have to get a colored wristband.
For AM EMH they have CMs with "MagicBand readers" stationed before the tapstiles(except for Magic Kingdom where non-eligible Guests are held at TTC).

Guests did get colored wristbands for PM EMH before the MagicBand "era".:)

Most people do leave, but now that it's easy to tell at ride entrance they've stopped worrying about it, plus they're not going to turn away the money we'll spend in the shops lol. Also I hate the 'leaving crush' for want of a better word, so finding a place to hole up and chill out, then leave at our own leisurely pace is much more appealing. I think nighttime is when WDW is at its most magical.

K, so anyway.

When is the best time to leave the park when there's PM EMH? Right on time or ...? I've decided to stay off-site and would like to know if anyone's got any ideas.

You don't have to leave, you can just stay and eat or shop or just walk around.

I would like to ask a question regarding EMH as well. We are staying offsite the night before we check in to our resort. So on the morning we are to check in, we would like to just go straight to the EMH park and start the day and then check in later during a mid day break. Do I need to do anything special or will the magic bands work first thing that morning before we check in?

Use on-line check-in, and list your arrival time as 7AM, or so.

You'll be able to head right to the AM EMH park.

To answer your question (not sure if it ever was)

To get into the park, they check your MB. However - when I was there for Christmas a big ferry arrived and they didn't seem too to turn anyone away. Sorry, I'm still bitter about that.

Most attractions and rides have MB readers (the Mickey head readers.) Similar to FastPass+, it'll turn green if you're on-site and EMH eligible and red if you're not. For attractions that don't have MB readers, a CM will (should) be at the front of each queue scanning MBs with the device they use at restaurants.

We're staying at Shades of green we don't get magic bands just resort ID. How does that work for EMH?

Those were eligible AM EMH Guests.

They had been "screened" at TTC before allowed on the Ferry.:)

So... my question is just going to be ignored then? OK.

So the answer to your question about when is the best time to leave a park that has EMH, is don't go to a park that has EMH at all. The crowds are always too large on those days. Go to other parks on that day.

I was there last week and I scanned my band with my ticket and no one asked any questions about a hotel...for the am emh. Truth, I didn't go on any rides in that first hour, so maybe they scan there?
For the PM's we had an extra person with us and no one said anything, and they only bothered to scan our bands once..
