Morning EMH question

We have a short trip planned for July. We usually go for 8-10 days so we never feel like we have to get up early for RD or morning EMH. We will be going to AK on a morning EMH. I have spent time in the parks on evening EMH, but never the morning ones. What is it like? Is it still pretty crowded? If we get to the park in the middle of EMH, will the offsite guests be lined up waiting to get in making it hard for us to get in? We are attempting to go to all four parks in one day so skipping AK this day is not an option. I would love any info you have about morning EMH. Thanks!

We love morning EMH. It can start quite early sometimes, but after initial "rush" to get in, it is sooo peaceful. And you get so much done. But you really need to be in line before it opens, don't show up halfway through.
Really one of the best reasons to stay on property, in my opinion. :)

1.) Morning EMH are very good to getting on rides and enjoying low crowds. The earlier the better. Most people don't want to wake up early on their vacation, so AM EMH can be great
2.) Offsite guests will indeed be lined up waiting to get in, but they have designated tapstiles in use for EMH guests. Just like with ADR guests as well. Typically they'll use the far left side, usually 2-3 tapstiles for EMH and ADR guests. So if you don't arrive right when the EMH start, you won't be crowded in with off site guests waiting. But arriving after the EMH is kind of a waste if you're getting there half way though

I strongly recommend getting up early and taking part in the AM EMH and getting there around 20-30 min before the EMH start

Basically the way the crowds at disney world is some people make it in early and then about 10-11 you start to notice the place getting more and more crowded peaking about 1-2pm which is roughly when most of the early risers head for a resort break. Morning EMH just gives you more time before that 10-11 place is starting to feel crowded.

For the time of year when it get really hot and humid (may through october), the temp peaks about 2-3pm so it gives you an extra hour. It'll still be hot, but it won't be as brutal as that afternoon sun for the afternoon break from it...

Locals and offsite resort don't really aim to be there for a specific time. Many it's because of when their resort bus is running as they run a time schedule. Locals don't really plan for a specific time.. It's more centered around what they are coming into the park, do their few hours and get out.

Are characters out during emh at Animal Kingdom? Are other attractions like the boneyard open?

I've often seen characters in the area where you enter the actual park, just beyond the turnstiles. Honestly, I can't say about the boneyard area as we always head to the KS

I don't know about EMHs but on a normal opening, Boneyard opens at 10AM. I suspect it's the same for EMH too but don't know that for sure.
