Morimoto Asia: Yay or Nay?

I keep going back and forth on trying Morimoto Asia for our next trip and this, well, less than enthusiastic review didn't help. What do you think- does Morimoto Asia really compare to the "worst Asian fast food at suburban American mall" like she says? I have tried Frontera Cocina and agree with that it is a solid take on Mexican (with more variety than Tex-Mex).

No clue what that reviewer thought as I dont click on links but Ive eaten twice there and had no issues with it. Im sure many will like it and many will not. Might as well try it yourself and form your own opinion.

Try it yourself. We were there a month ago and tried several dishes. Everything was top quality and very good. Definitely going back!

I've been there a few times and find the food of a much higher quality than the reviewer suggests.

Always good to try things for yourself

I'm very picky about Asian food and I had high expectations for Morimoto's and honestly it exceeded them. Everything we had was fantastic. My husband dreams about the ribs.

We had a great meal in June. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

I also went to Morimoto Asia last month and found the food to be excellent. It was definitely leagues above the fast food you find in a mall.

We've eaten at Morimoto several times. Its far above what you get for "Asian fast food at suburban American mall". True that its not to everybody's taste, but what its? Go and try it yourself.

I haven't eaten there yet, but am excited to next month. I listen to a lot of Disney podcasts & I've never heard anything but glowing reviews of their food on those.

We've eaten there and it was really hit or miss. The peking duck was very good and our server was very nice, but they make the sushi and the other menu items in two different places so it was very difficult for him to time our meal correctly. We waited so long for the sushi, it basically became our dessert. I would try it! The atmosphere is lovely and it's definitely not mall food.

Their seafood tower is dreamy. I've never had sushi that tasted that fresh! It was really yummy!

We did not have very good service or food when we tried it last December. Not worth the money.

We didn't care for it that much, the food was good not great. The duck was very good the rest just eh. The server was friendly but not attentive, we were sat at a small table near the servers station and listened to two of the servers argue. We were on the dining plan and told we both had to get the duck to get it which is what the menu said so no big surprise but for dessert they insisted that we each get a dessert even though they were labeled for two and they were huge so it was wasteful. I really wanted to like it but it was just kind of an odd experience, kind of all over the place if that makes sense.

It's beautiful in there and we thought the food was excellent. DH says the ribs were the best he's ever had. I had the spicy pork ramen bowl and thought it was lovely.

I went during Magical Dining Month and it was pretty good. I don't know that I'd pay their regular menu prices - I don't have that kind of money.

Unless one has had the entire menu, saying the food there is of the typical mall variety is perhaps a baseless comment. As most suggest, you should try it yourself and form your own opinion. Our experience is that some dishes are average, some quite tasty, and a couple are notable. Of the dishes we've sampled:
Average - miso soup, orange chicken, dumplings
Tasty - spicy yellowtail and spider sushi (Kimono's is far better), duck "nasi goreng"
Notable - Kung Pao chicken (we asked them to spice it up and they did, plus the spice profile was spot on), and the best dish of all, the Buri Bop--unique, flavorful, unctuous, and prepared tableside--one of my favorite dishes at Disney
Further, their wine list is fairly good, in addition to sake if you're a fan of such.
