I'm just throwing this out to get everyone's thoughts. We will be camping for 12 days with a pop up and a tent and for the first 6 days there will be 11 of us including 4 kids, 2 kids 5 and 2 kids 7 years old. Then the remaining time we will have either 8 or 9 people which is under the maximum per campsite. With 1 over, I hate to have to rent a 2nd site for the first 6 days. Most of the entire cost of the trip for everyone is coming out of our pocket. We have been trying to get all our kids to WDW for many years and we're going to do it this time. I am looking for a way to prevent from having to rent that extra site yet have the extra magic hours available. I don't mind paying the extra adults at all, but if there was a way to have a 5 year old child registered with another family on another site, with no charging privileges, that may take care of it. Has anybody ever done that or something like that before?:confused3

Since you have a pop up I'm sure you are an experienced camper, but I still had to point out how crowded you are going to be. Even if half are in the tent and half in the pop up you will all be on top of each other.

We have purchased some huge tents and were still crowded with 2 adults and 2 kids in one tent. Even if the kids are all in the tent they will be very, very close. How big is your pop up? The way adults snore I cannot imagine all of those people trying to sleep together in such close quarters.

I know it is Disney, and I know sleeping is the last thing people think about, but in all honesty I think you are going to be hugely uncomfortable.

Disney will allow more than 10 if you are all one family. We have 9 kids, soon to be 10, and they allow us to stay on one site. Plus we qualify as a Grand Gathering every time we go.

The pop up sleeps 8 comfortably. Plus we will have a 12 X 20 foot screenhouse over the tents. We camp together a lot, so yes we are aware of the close quarters and the snoring, of which I am guilty...lol. We are all one big happy family, so we deal with it. I hadn't even thought of the grand gathering side of it and I wasn't aware of the more than 10 if one family. That is something I will have to check more into. We will all be going down for our middle daughter's honeymoon, and yes she is having a Disney theme wedding at home first...lol. She invited us all on their honeymoon since we're all Disney fanatics. Actually it's kind of the other way around, we were planning on going anyway and they decided to get married and honeymoon then with everyone else there. I guess that would be considered a grand gathering...hahaha. We have camped at the fort before with 9 people and enjoyed it. Thanks for the info. I'll do some looking into the grand gathering side of it this week.

I just called the grand gathering number and they tell me it's 10 per site no matter what....Darn.
