More snow on the way

Well, they called off our show for tonight! Snowplow just about got stuck in our cul de sac, that is nuts! And they just cancelled the Holidazzle! Disney on Ice is still happening tonight, yikes.

I was just coming to post Holidazzle is cancelled. lol

The Guthrie also cancelled it's performance of A Christmas Carol tonight. So if you had tickets to tonights show, you're out of luck until after Christmas.

I-94 is closed from Hudson to Tomah. Several roads in MN are closed and the State Patrol is advising no travel in the Twin Cities area.

And yet my dinky little town, with no police or fire, has actually completely plowed out our cul de sac! I cannot believe it!

Hennepin County pulled their plows off the roads. It is blowing like crazy here still. DH just tried to get out of our driveway and got stuck.

13 inches reported at Rochester airport and it is nasty out with high winds and heavy snow falling.

No travel advised and the town is pretty much shut down except for Mayo.

My poor 16 y o dog can barely move in this snow. I had to help Sam up the steps and in the house.

DH stuck in the driveway (fuzzy phone picture because the wind is blowing and I took it in a hurry ).


This is after shoveling 4 times today.

I can't get the screen door on my front door open. Good thing I have a back door without a screen door. I am glad I have a plowing service. They should have me plowed out tomorrow morning. I was surprised when I heard Hennipenn County pulled the plows. Anyone know when that last happened?

Probably the blizzard of 1991, on Halloween.

Our front door is ok-we have a covered porch, but our back door, and the dog door, keep drifting shut.

I am in Woodbury. Can't beleive how much snow it is. Of course, my DH is out of town hunting until Tuesday evening. Good thing I have great neighbors. I have had 2 different neighbors come snowblowthe driveway today. They know DH is gone so are watching out for me.

Pretty much have been sitting by the fireplace watching TV and on the computer. Not much else to do. The steets are horrible. I hate not being able to go anywhere - this doesn't happen much here. We are usually plowed out ASAP.

I think the snow has stopped for now - I hope it is done...

Sounds like you got the brunt of the storm there. The forecast is for 1-3 more inches overnight. I can't tell if it is snowing or just blowing now.

This winter has been great so far. There is nothing like a good book, comfy chair, fire in the fireplace and a blizzard raging outside.

Only if you don't have to go out in it! I have a 30-mile commute (60 miles round trip) and both kids go with me, so I dread snow.

I just saw on the National Weather Service site that Oakdale is reporting 20" of snow as of 2;45 today.

That's about where we live. The snow is drifted to the bottom of our windows...so that's like 4.5 or 5 feet. It's so so so pretty! I haven't seen a plow come by at all today...but plenty of other cars!

There are some cool pictures on the Star Tribune website. There is one of some drifts over some parking meters that should be entered in a photo contest. It's pretty cool.

I just took a measurement on our deck (protected from the wind--2 FEET.

I have never lost electricity in a snow storm.

Wires are really bending low. We loose electricity really easy.

Neither have we! Not even during the Halloween Blizzard! And in no way are we trapped - people are out driving all over. Just some snow...doesn't stop us from doing our normal things - just makes it easier to NOT do them. Allows us to feel ok about being lazy!

I agree-It's easy to skip going to church, but I'll bundle up and walk to work though on Monday.

I agree, everyone should of got their shopping done. It started snowing by 5, and then the blizzard warning came out. Can't let MN have all the fun. And, The Packers made it safely to Detroit. Geesh, that was breaking news in Milwaukee.

I just saw on the weather channel the Vikings game may be in jeapordy tomorrow.

And nary a flake here. *sigh* I've been waiting so patiently all day...

The Viking's game is delayed to Monday Night now.

The plow came by, we have a 5' wall of snow at the foot of our driveway
