More snow on the way

And? His comment that the Giants should have to forfeit for not planning ahead? That one?

I'm failing to see your point. :rotfl:

Do you think that the Vikings should have to forfeit because their field is unplayable. Does your husband? :upsidedow

Doesn't matter, since the Giants would have to forfeit first, since they couldn't get there. :teeth:

This snow is just plain nuts. DH had to work until 7:00 PM last evening and he could not get his Chevy Avalanche (4WD) up to our house on the N Hill in Stillwater. He ended up parking in the Post Office lot and walking home. The plows finally came through about 5 am this morning and now we have to dig out. Our snow plow is broken, so this will be a muscle and shovel job and will take picking forever.

I am thrilled that the Vikings can't play today, because now they will televise the Packer game in it's place! GO PACK GO!

I grew up on the North Hill :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Great place to live! We got to say we walked up hill, both ways, to school and not be exaggerating :lmao:.

We were in St Paul today and it was messy in spots, but not too bad. We did get stuck coming out of the Walmart parking lot in Woodbury, but 2 guys got out of there cars and gave a us push ( people are just so NICE here!..lol) but other than that no problems.

I94 in MN was still snowy in spots where the wind gusted and St. Paul was still pretty messy, but 94 in WI was dry as a bone, which is surprising because they closed the WI side from Hudson all the way to Tomah last night. They must have busting their tails overnight to get it clean and reopened.

Our streets here in Hudson are pretty clear, and the city was even out plowing our sidewalks today. :lmao: We have a lot of people who like to walk around here, and there were even quite a few out today, despite the bitter cold.

We used to live in Toledo, Ohio...they got 3-5 inches today and already half of the schools in the outer areas are delayed or closed. :rotfl:

My kids are hoping for an "extreme" cold day tomorrow, but I seriously doubt it's going to happen.

Here is another picture from our deck after DH shoveled for the dog:

I cannot believe MPLS and St. Paul public schools are closed today! I think I can count on one hand, the number of times that has happened! All because they can't get the buses down the roads.
My dh works on S. Mpls, and he is a parts and service mgr for a company that sells snow removal equipment (as well as other things), he was crabby before he even left for work because he knows how awful his day will be!

We have a two hour delay this morning, due to icy roads.

I was shocked too but honestly, St. Paul and Minneapolis do a HORRIBLE job of snow removal on a good day, let alone after 17" of snow. Our roads were clear by 4:00am on Sunday so our kids were off to school as normal this morning. I laughed at the Trib article that said the schools were closed because of "extreme cold" and "snow" :lmao:. It's -10. When our kids were in elementary school -10 was the magic number for staying inside for recess. Growing up we walked 8 blocks (up hills, both ways, really) to school and only got a ride if it was -10 or colder. This is NOT extreme cold .:lmao:

Wow,I sure can see how most of you just love this snow stuff. ;) I would be crazy by now. Literally. People snowed in, stuck in cars, can't see out your windows. Yep, its all good. Since it is Christmas and I am in a generous mood you can keep it up your way. If I lived in that, I would be moving at first thaw.

On a serious note. Stay safe and warm.

Extreme cold :rotfl:!! -25 to -30 air temp is extreme cold!! Our roads were totally plowed Saturday night, which was shocking, because our city/county is not usually very on top of that.
Hopefully we will actually get mail today, they didn't make it on Saturday.

I cannot even imagine what the cities will do with all this snow. They can't just leave it there, or the roads are going to become impassable by January. They are going to have to suck it up and find a way to fix it. When they can't even tow the cars out, that is a sign something is wrong LOL!

A nearby city dumps snow in the Fox River. :)

I kind of feel the same way about hurricanes-how do you deal with that :lmao:. Oh, and rattle snakes in your yard :scared:

Minneapolis and St. Paul will dump snow into the Mississippi if there gets to be too much. The piles at the end of our driveway are about 6' high already. It gets to the point that if some doesn't melt you can't toss it high enough to move it too. I am going to look for a snowblower today.

Dh bought a commercial snowblower a couple years ago, and hadn't gotten to use it much, just for little stuff. He came in about 9pm on Saturday after redoing our driveway and the neighbors driveway, including the 5 foot snowplow drifts with a big grin and says " I LOVE that snowblower!!!". First time that he hasn't complained about blowing the driveway. Our pile at the end of ours is easily 10 feet already. We live in a cul de sac so it all ends up at the end of our yard.
Did you know Rosedale melts their snow in the lot, until after Christmas?? They don't want to tie up parking spaces, so they have a snow melter.

I did not know that. I know my high school had heated sidewalks though. When they built the school they put them in because it was less expensive to do that then pay to have them shoveled. If I ever built a house I would consider doing that too :lmao:.

Oooh, that is cool!!!!! I would love that, my poor little doggies slide all over the place on our sidewalks. Actually why stop there? I have a really steep driveway, having that heated would be nice (and much safer) too!
DH sells parts to the guys who work for Rosedales lot people, and they told him that a couple weeks ago when they came in. After Christmas, apparently they don't care anymore, then it just piles up! They are going to have a LOT of melting to do right now:).

Well where I live in Florida I guess we are lucky. I am 47 years old, never been through a real hurricane. We had a threat a few years ago. Some wind, lost power for 4 hours starting at 10:00pm was back on around 2:00 am. Never saw a rattle snake either, water mocs yes, but not rattlers. Truthfually, I would rather deal with a rattles. Mocs are just mean and will fight you.

Can your Dh get me a good deal on a snowblower for my DH :lmao::lmao::lmao:

He actually got his off Craiglist! It was the one he wanted, but it was considerably less than even his cost. The guy had gotten like 8 of them somehow, they were new, still in the crate. It was a great deal!

Holy crap, I would LOVE to find a box of Kix when I shovel!!!:rotfl:

So, DH was gone this weekend to Madison. That left little ole me to do the snowblowing (twice on Sunday!)!!! Thankfully, our driveway in our new house is short than in our old house. AND, one of our neighbors has a plow on the end of his truck, and once the snow plow went through, he plowed out the end of everyone's driveway on our block!! Unfortunately, I forgot to wake up early this morning, to check things out. Got up at 6 like usual, and had to go out and snow blow again!!!
