More snow on the way

I'm in Woodbury, MN. We certainly got the brunt of it. We have a homeowners association and have our plowing through that.....we are not plowed out yet! Drifts are up over windows, can't see out some of them at all. There is a drift from our garage to another part of the house that I am sure is atleast 5 ft tall. Can't walk down our sidewalk through it. It's not even WINTER yet!!! Guess we don't have to worry about having a white Christmas this year. Got all of my Christmas wrapping done yesterday though.

DH has been out there for 2 hours this morning clearing the drifts. Our sidewalk drifted overnight up to his knees. He hasn't even started on the wall at the end of the driveway yet. I think he is going to get one of the neighbor's snowblowers later to do that. I keep telling him we need a snowblower, I think this one just might turn the tide on that discussion. :lmao:

I just saw on the WCCO-the roof on the Metrodome collapsed under the weight of the snow.

Good morning! I couldn't get the front door open, so this is through a window. The dark smudges are snowflakes.

Looks familiar :lmao:

Roads are plowed for the most part. This is the part the rest of the country doesn't understand about living here-ample snow removal equipment. We got 20" of snow ending sometime late last night, roads are plowed already.

We haven't had a plow go by since the storm started...I honestly don't even know if they are out. There is a statewide advisory to stay off the roads, and many roads are impassable.

I'm very thankful the Packers game isn't home today, just for everyone's safety.

And DH thinks the Giants should have to forfeit the game. It isn't like they knew the storm was coming. Maybe they should have left a day earlier.

:rotfl:Plow just went past, honking at all the people out snowblowing. :rotfl:

:lmao::lmao::lmao: They did catch an earlier flight according to the newspaper.

Our plows were pulled off the roads yesterday during the brunt of the storm and the roads in the southern half of the state were all closed because of blowing and drifting snow. Those may take a little longer to dig out.

Now that the dome has collapsed, who knows where they will play--maybe at the new outdoor stadium at the U of MN?

This snow is just plain nuts. DH had to work until 7:00 PM last evening and he could not get his Chevy Avalanche (4WD) up to our house on the N Hill in Stillwater. He ended up parking in the Post Office lot and walking home. The plows finally came through about 5 am this morning and now we have to dig out. Our snow plow is broken, so this will be a muscle and shovel job and will take picking forever.

I am thrilled that the Vikings can't play today, because now they will televise the Packer game in it's place! GO PACK GO!

It was a record setting snowfall yesterday for SE mn

Rochester area had 15 inches and all major roads are plowed and open.
Our street was plowed about 4 am and neighbor boy plowed our drive at 7 am

Dh is cleaning up the drive and then we are headed to church and target. I'm sure target will be nuts.

My dh went out last night, and recleared the driveway, and the 5 foot pile the plow left for us. Then he cleared the neighbors driveway, and their 5 foot pile and 5 foot drifts, because they are in Phoenix. I think we are pretty good now, just some little drifts from blowing. My mailbox is barely visible, if it snows anymore, you won't be able to find the dumb thing!
Now we are just left with this ridiculous cold!!!! I want to read the paper, but I don't want to walk down the street to get it off my box.
And sadly, it's not even technically winter anymore. Spring better start in Feb this year!

Please, please, please keep it out there ~ if I never see snow again it will be too soon and I know it's coming eventually but I don't have to welcome it:eek: I can hardly wait to move to a climate where snow is unheard of (EVER!)

So I guess that you now feel that MN should forfeit the game because your field is unplayable, right? :rolleyes1

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Wow, please everyone within the snow belts, be very careful. I used to live in New England (for many many years) ... do not venture out at all. No point in that ... the visibility appears to almost zero. :headache:

Yes, it was. Governor declared a state of emergency throughout the entire state.

Now the sun is shining, but still very gusty winds and COLD temps. :beach:

Nice dodge. :thumbsup2

Why would it be a dodge? I don't live in MN, I don't give a rat's behind what the Vikings do. :confused3

Lambeau was not played at this weekend, due to the Packers being in DETROIT (and lost, but that's a whole other thread :headache:).

Even if the Packers would have been home this weekend, the game would have been played and the stadium would have been full.

Because that's how Packer fans roll. :thumbsup2

You post about your husband's comment. A reply to that comment and you only want to talk about "your" team. That dodge. :rolleyes1

And? His comment that the Giants should have to forfeit for not planning ahead? That one?

I'm failing to see your point. :rotfl:
