More 'sayings' that drive me crazy

My DD's drive me crazy by saying, "He goes and she goes" instead of he said and she said. Where does that come from??

My son says "He gots" instead of "he has". That's something we've been working on for YEARS, although it has gotten better. He slips back into it when he gets over tired or over excited.

I used to hear this one in New Mexico--particularly to young boys--"Cowboy up." It just set my teeth on edge.

I also hate the term "back in the day." What day? January 12, 1970? Somehow it's been shortened from "back in the olden days" to "back in the day" and it annoys the heck out of me.

Worse is when I hear a 14 year old saying it. Back in WHOSE day? YOUR day.. you haven't HAD your day... GRRRR

Internet speak gets me. If you can't be bothered to speak in full sentences and in proper english.. GO AWAY. Like Totally, Dude!

My least favorite is BASICALLY, which is basically overused basically every time it is used! GRRRRRR!!!! Another phrase i can't stand is "out of the box". i just keep picturing a jack-in-the-box jumping out, lol.

Saying "reach out" instead of call

"Fresh" instead of new - I saw a bank advertising fresh checking accounts.

You know what I'm saying?

And my all time favorite - That's whack. It's especially irritating when my middle aged friends try to be hip and grammatically correct and say "That's whacked."

The thing that puts me completely over the edge is when people use the word "ghetto" as if it were synonymous with "non-white". FYI, I'm pretty sure that white people live in ghettos, too.

It drives me nuts when people say "I could care less" when they are trying to say they DON'T care about something. If you don't care about something, then you couldn't care less.

Shugardrawers, yes, it's oriented, not orientated. That bugs me, too. I also hate "my bad", "talk to the hand" and "dis" as in "are you dissin' me?"

I forgot my #1 saying!!!!!!!!! Orientate...orientated... I have heard some of the most educated people I know use that word. Like, I totally hate that!

Like I have been working with my DS on this, and like he is getting much better. Like he falls into the habit if I don't remind him every once in awhile.
