I saw some photos of resort specific items at the GF. Is this happening at some other resorts as well? I hope so, anyone been to the Poly lately that can let me know about the shops there?

If it is happening, I hope it is good quality merchandise. The had a decent amount of stuff at AKL this past October, but I still didn't buy anything because it was either cheaply made or very expensive. If they had a Hydroflask with the logo on it, I would have jumped on it. But, a cheap plastic bottle that would sweat, drip and leak? Nope, only if maybe they where giving then away. :rotfl:

yes board walk and yacht club got more of their own things the board walk inn had a nice water bottle in dec went in feb and it sold out. so lets hope they see that guest want that and they can make money.

Does anyone know if AKL has any zip hoodies with the AKL logo/name?

To be fair though, the grand always had more resort specific stuff than anywhere else for some reason. Beach club still had almost nothing a month ago while yacht club did. :confused3

I was there in December, and saw that there were new Poly-specific things compared to May when we stopped in the shop before 'Ohana dinner.

I like the trend toward more resort-specific merchandise, but it makes me want to stay in more different resorts to "earn" the merchandise.

VWL had a lot of merchandise in December. I didn't care for much of it but I'm glad to see it was there!

On our last trip to Coronado Springs, we couldn't even get a pin, T-shirt or key ring. When I asked a CM if they were out of stock, she said that Disney had eliminated resort-branded merchandise from CS.

Especially with all the new possible Fastpass endtime restrictions being taked about in the parks, all the resorts need to be touted as destinations in themselves. Resort-specific items, available only at that resort, are a key part of furthering an attachment to the resort.

When will Disney realize that all resort levels have their own groups of fans? Just look at these boards to see people who are absolutely devoted to the magic that they have found at their "Disney homes". Even if they are concerned about decreased volume sales of a specific item, the long-term benefit of promoting the property in question should be clearly evident.

Looking forward to seeing some good resort swag on our upcoming Poly trip. :thumbsup2

We just left the DisneyLand Hotel and were disappointed that they didn't have a DLH specific polo. We did see Grand Californian polos over at their gift shop.
